Pokémon Champions Regulation M-C Mega Evolutions add six new forms on September 9, 2026: Mega Absol Z, Mega Salamence, Mega Garchomp Z, Mega Lucario Z, Mega Golisopod and Mega Baxcalibur. Three are Z Mega Evolutions, while Salamence, Golisopod and Baxcalibur receive their standard named Mega forms.
The six Pokémon Champions Regulation M-C Mega Evolutions are part of the Regulation Set M-C roster and become available alongside 24 new battle additions. Previous eligible Mega Evolutions remain part of the wider Regulation pool; M-C is adding to that pool rather than replacing every Mega from earlier sets.
All Pokémon Champions Regulation M-C Mega Evolutions
| Mega Evolution | Ability |
|---|---|
| Mega Absol Z | Sharpness |
| Mega Salamence | Aerilate |
| Mega Garchomp Z | Levitate |
| Mega Lucario Z | Aura Guard |
| Mega Golisopod | Tough Claws |
| Mega Baxcalibur | Thermal Exchange |
Each of the new Pokémon Champions Regulation M-C Mega Evolutions has a defined battle Ability. Mega Absol Z uses Sharpness, Mega Garchomp Z uses Levitate and Mega Lucario Z uses the new Aura Guard Ability.
What Does Aura Guard Do?
Aura Guard is the new Ability attached to Mega Lucario Z. Among the Pokémon Champions Regulation M-C Mega Evolutions, it is the only completely new Ability name in this six-Pokémon group.
Aura Guard reduces damage from moves that make physical contact by 50%. That effect is specific to contact moves rather than a blanket reduction to every physical attack.

Mega Salamence
Mega Salamence joins the Pokémon Champions Regulation M-C Mega Evolutions with Aerilate. Salamence itself is also one of the newly available standard Pokémon in Regulation M-C.
Aerilate is the established Ability associated with Mega Salamence, changing Normal-type attacks into Flying-type attacks while boosting their power under the ability’s normal effect.
Mega Golisopod
Mega Golisopod is another headline member of the Pokémon Champions Regulation M-C Mega Evolutions. Its Ability is Tough Claws, which boosts moves that make physical contact.
Golisopod also becomes newly available as a standard Pokémon in M-C, so players can use the species without Mega Evolving or build around its Mega form.
Mega Baxcalibur
Mega Baxcalibur completes the trio of newly revealed non-Z Pokémon Champions Regulation M-C Mega Evolutions. Its Ability is Thermal Exchange.
Baxcalibur itself is newly available for battle in Regulation M-C, making both its standard and Mega options part of the same September 9 roster expansion.
The Three Z Mega Evolutions
Mega Absol Z, Mega Garchomp Z and Mega Lucario Z are the three Z forms among the Pokémon Champions Regulation M-C Mega Evolutions. Their Abilities are Sharpness, Levitate and Aura Guard respectively.
These Z forms were teased around the 2026 Pokémon World Championships before Regulation M-C went live, while the September 2 regulation announcement confirmed their M-C availability.
Can You Mega Evolve More Than Once?
No. The arrival of six Pokémon Champions Regulation M-C Mega Evolutions does not change the core Regulation rule: a player can Mega Evolve only once per battle.
That makes team preview and Mega choice important when a roster contains more than one eligible Mega candidate, but the rule itself remains the same as the previous regulation.
Regulation M-C Mega Evolution Rules
The basic Mega Evolution rule itself has not changed with the September update. A team can contain eligible Mega candidates, but a player can activate Mega Evolution only once during a battle. The new forms expand the choice available at team preview without creating a second Mega activation.
The official Regulation Set M-C announcement confirms all six Pokémon Champions Regulation M-C Mega Evolutions and the September 9 start of the new ruleset.
