Pokémon Champions Version 1.2 Update is live as Version 1.2.0 on September 9, 2026, bringing Regulation Set M-C content, six new Mega Evolutions, new held items, two battle-interface features and several balance changes. The update became available after the scheduled 02:00-06:00 UTC maintenance window.
The most important part of the Pokémon Champions Version 1.2 Update is that it is required for online play. If Pokémon Champions opens but refuses to connect after maintenance, check that the client has actually installed Version 1.2.0 before troubleshooting the network.

The Pokémon Champions Version 1.2 Update is much more than a normal bug-fix patch because it changes the competitive pool. Regulation M-C keeps previously eligible Pokémon while adding a fresh group that includes Rillaboom, Salamence, Golisopod and Baxcalibur.

New Mega Evolutions in Version 1.2.0
Six Mega Evolutions arrive with the Pokémon Champions Version 1.2 Update: Mega Absol Z, Mega Salamence, Mega Garchomp Z, Mega Lucario Z, Mega Golisopod and Mega Baxcalibur.
| Mega Evolution | Ability |
|---|---|
| Mega Absol Z | Sharpness |
| Mega Salamence | Aerilate |
| Mega Garchomp Z | Levitate |
| Mega Lucario Z | Aura Guard |
| Mega Golisopod | Tough Claws |
| Mega Baxcalibur | Thermal Exchange |
The three Z Mega Evolutions are Mega Absol Z, Mega Garchomp Z and Mega Lucario Z. Mega Lucario Z uses the new Aura Guard Ability, which reduces damage from contact moves by 50%.
New Battle Log Feature
Battle Log is one of the clearest quality-of-life additions in the Pokémon Champions Version 1.2 Update. It allows players to review the action history of the current battle while the battle is still taking place.
That makes it easier to check what has already happened in longer games without relying entirely on memory, particularly when tracking switches, move choices and previous turns.
Selection Support Added
Selection Support is the second major interface feature in the Pokémon Champions Version 1.2 Update. During team selection, the game can display support information based on battle data to help with choosing which Pokémon to bring.
The feature does not replace team building or prediction, but it adds another source of context at the point where players decide their final lineup.
Move and Movepool Changes
The Pokémon Champions Version 1.2 Update makes three confirmed movepool removals. Politoed can no longer use Pound, while Archaludon loses Mirror Coat and Metal Burst.
Slash is newly usable. Wish and Strength Sap are also nerfed from 12 PP to 8 PP each, reducing the number of times those recovery and utility moves can be used before PP restoration is considered.
New Held Items
The Pokémon Champions Version 1.2 Update adds Leek, Rocky Helmet, Air Balloon, Red Card, Binding Band, Eject Button, Normal Gem, Terrain Extender and the four terrain Seeds: Electric, Psychic, Misty and Grassy.
That item batch matters immediately for M-C because the new roster includes terrain-related Pokémon such as Rillaboom and Indeedee, while the four Seeds interact directly with their matching terrains.
Other Fixes
The official completion notice says the Pokémon Champions Version 1.2 Update also fixes some additional issues, but it does not provide a detailed bug-by-bug list. Those unspecified fixes should not be expanded into invented patch notes.
The official Pokémon Champions September 9 update notice confirms the battle-balance changes, new features and Regulation M-C additions included with the Pokémon Champions Version 1.2 Update.
The official rules continue the one-Mega-Evolution-per-battle structure and the existing duplicate-held-item restriction.
