Mouthwashing console release date was Thursday, 29 October 2026. Wrong Organ’s psychological horror game is now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. It also joined Xbox Game Pass and the Xbox Windows PC store on the same day, while the original Steam version dates back to September 2024.
If you’ve spotted different dates online, that’s why. The game started on PC long before the new console editions, and old previews still talk about a future launch that has already happened. Here’s the current platform list, which Game Pass tiers include it, and what to check before buying a version you may already have access to.
Mouthwashing console release date and platforms confirmed
Wrong Organ and CRITICAL REFLEX announced 29 October for the console launch, and Xbox, Nintendo UK and PlayStation all list the release. Mouthwashing arrived on these platforms on the same day, so you can pick up your preferred edition now rather than wait for another port.
| Platform | Available since |
|---|---|
| Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One | 29 October 2026 |
| Xbox on Windows PC | 29 October 2026 |
| Xbox Cloud Gaming | 29 October 2026 for eligible Game Pass tiers |
| Nintendo Switch | 29 October 2026 |
| PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 | 29 October 2026 |
| Steam on PC | 26 September 2024 |
On Xbox, the storefront lists Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, handheld and cloud compatibility. Nintendo confirms a standard Nintendo Switch edition, with single-player support and a 1.6GB download. Sony’s store shows separate PS4 and PS5 product editions. Choose the listing for the console and region you actually use.
Is Mouthwashing on Xbox Game Pass?
Yes. The Mouthwashing console release date also marked its Game Pass debut. Xbox lists Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass as eligible tiers. Supported play options include Series X|S, Windows PC and cloud, depending on your device and membership.
Game Pass Essential isn’t among the tiers listed for Mouthwashing. Sign in with the Microsoft account that holds your subscription and look for Install or Play in the Xbox app. If the game only offers a purchase, check your membership before paying.
Mouthwashing console release date on Switch, PS4 and PS5
Nintendo’s UK eShop dates the Switch release to 29 October and lists a 1.6GB download. Nintendo’s launch roundup advertised the game for £10.99 in the UK; check the live store for any later sale. A separately sold native Switch 2 edition has not been announced in that listing.
PlayStation has official PS4 and PS5 editions dated 29 October. Buy the version shown for your account and console. The Mouthwashing console release date doesn’t mean an Xbox purchase includes a PlayStation licence.
What does Xbox Play Anywhere mean for Mouthwashing?
Xbox lists the game as Play Anywhere. An eligible digital purchase through Microsoft’s store supports the Xbox and Windows PC versions using the same account. That doesn’t turn a Steam, PlayStation or Nintendo purchase into a Microsoft licence.
For PC players, the Mouthwashing console release date explains why the game returned to release calendars in 2026. Steam players have had it since 26 September 2024, while the Xbox PC edition and Game Pass access arrived in October 2026. Check your existing library before paying for a second copy.
What kind of game is Mouthwashing?
Mouthwashing is a single-player, first-person psychological horror story set aboard the ruined cargo freighter Tulpar. Five crew members are stranded far from help, watching food, power and their trust in each other disappear. Captain Curly is badly injured, and the ship’s crew must face what happened.
Exploration, atmosphere and uneasy storytelling drive the experience. It isn’t a multiplayer survival game simply because five characters feature in the plot. There is no reason to buy this version expecting co-op sessions or crossplay between consoles.
Mouthwashing console release date and physical editions
The developer and publisher have confirmed Standard and Deluxe physical editions for PS5 and Nintendo Switch through Fangamer. These are separate from the digital launch. Check the actual delivery date before ordering a boxed copy.
To play now, use the digital store for your console or a qualifying Game Pass membership. There’s no reason to wait for the physical editions unless you specifically want a boxed copy.
Mouthwashing not showing in your console store?
Search the full game name, remove restrictive platform filters and confirm your store region. On Xbox, also check the Microsoft account and Game Pass tier. On PlayStation, inspect the PS4 or PS5 product page. On Switch, look for the regular Switch download rather than assuming every newer Nintendo hardware edition shares one listing.
If the download is in your library but won’t open, complete any pending installation and console update. Our Xbox game launch troubleshooting article can help with general Xbox errors. A purchase that won’t launch is different from a title missing because a subscription isn’t eligible.
