Trainers! As we fast approach the end of the Season of Light, which has seen brand new Pokemon enter the game, and a vast amount of rewards and special events, we are about to embark on a new Season in Pokemon Go, as we enter Season 9: Mythical Wishes.

Set to bring some rather unique additions, the Season 9: Mythical Wishes event, will see trainers encountering brand new shinies, as well as many rewards, bonuses, and research to complete.

Season 9: Mythical Wishes – The details

Beginning Thursday, December 1, at 10:00 AM Local Time and ending, Wednesday, March 1, at 10:00 AM Local Time, players will have 3 months of Mythical Wishes gameplay, as well as the introduction of Season 13 in the Go Battle League.

Bonuses – including new permanent features

As we enter the new Season, trainers will now receive Guaranteed Gifts from PokéStop spins, and Increased Incense effectiveness while moving, a welcome addition to all!

AS well as the new permanent features, trainers can expect the following bonuses for the duration of the event:

  • Increased damage for Pokémon participating in raids remotely
  • Trainers level 31+ receive a guaranteed 1 XL Candy for each trade
  • All Trainers receive 1 additional Candy for each trade
  • Trainers can open 40 Gifts daily
  • Trainers can send 125 Gifts daily.

With such a huge increase in the gift allowances, stocking up on Pokeballs (and stickers), will be much easier for trainers who are unable to reach Pokestops.

Research Breakthrough

The following Pokemon will be available by completing Field Research to unlock the Research Breakthrough with a very special addition to the game for the first time ever – a Shiny Galarian Mr. Mime!

  • Galarian Mr. Mime – Shiny Pokemon now available
  • Delibird
  • Bagon
  • Deino
  • Furfrou (Natural)
  • Goomy – Unavailable as a Shiny Pokemon at present

First debuting as a Special Research Pokemon, Galarian Mr. Mime being released as a Shiny is certainly something to be excited about!

For the duration of the new Season 9: Mythical Wishes, trainers can select one of the following Timed Research tasks from each of the events taking place until March 1st, 2023:

Winter Holiday Part 2

1/2 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed into Incubators during the event period

2× XP for catching Pokemon

2× Stardust for catching Pokemon.

Lunar New Year

1/2 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed into Incubators during the event period

2× Stardust for catching Pokemon

2× Daily Adventure Incense duration

Valentine’s Day

2× Daily Adventure Incense duration

2× XP for catching Pokemon

2× Candy for catching Pokemon
