Slowking is one of the final evolutions of the Gen-I Dopey Pokemon, Slowpoke, but how do you get Slowking in Pokemon Go? What evolution item do you need?

Fortunately, this will be a pretty easy question to answer, and players will only have to choose between Slowking and one other Pokemon for this particular evolution item, so let’s get right into it.

How to get Slowking in Pokemon Go

As with any other item-locked evolution, you’ll need to fulfil two separate requirements to get Slowking in Pokemon Go. First of all, of course, you’ll need a Slowpoke to get started so that you can evolve it into Slowking in the first place.

Although with that said, you’d probably need to catch quite a few Slowpoke, given you’ll need 50 candies to evolve a Slowpoke into Slowking at all. Of course, you can speed up the candy gathering by using Pinap berries, or by using rare candy. Though I’d really recommend saving those rare candies for legendary Pokemon or the like, to be honest.

With the Pokemon and Candy out of the way, next up you’ll be needing a Kings Rock, which we’ll talk about next.

While a Kings Rock isn’t the easiest to get on short notice, you have a chance at one every single time you spin a Pokestop, get your seventh-day spin streak reward, or as a reward from research tasks and potentially from gifts.

All of these different sources can build up and if you do these things regularly, you’ll probably have a few of them by the time you need them anyway.

That makes evolving Slowpoke into Slowking pretty easy in Pokemon Go, as long as you have been doing those things regularly. The candy cost isn’t particularly large either.

Is there anything else to know?

Kings Rock is only used for two evolutions in Pokemon Go, so the only real consideration to make before deciding to use it for Slowking is if you’d prefer using it for Politoed instead.

With some of these evolution items, I’d advise you to check up what else to use it on before committing, but the list really is just two Pokemon in this case.

That’s about everything that needs to be said for how to get Slowking in Pokemon Go, really.
