Minecraft Treasure Hunt Watch Challenge is a limited-time promotion giving Bedrock players two free pet companions for watching Minecraft livestreams on TikTok and Twitch. The event runs from September 4 until September 13, 2026 at 11:59pm PT and rewards the Aqua Cool Fish and Amethyst Drone.
There are no Minecoins involved. The Minecraft Treasure Hunt Watch Challenge simply asks players to complete one short watch task on each platform, then redeem the codes through Minecraft’s official redemption page.
Minecraft Treasure Hunt Watch Challenge rewards
There are two rewards in the Minecraft Treasure Hunt Watch Challenge. TikTok viewers can earn the Aqua Cool Fish, a bright blue fish companion wearing sunglasses. Twitch viewers can earn the Amethyst Drone, a purple-and-green floating companion with an amethyst-inspired design.
| Reward | Where to watch | Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Aqua Cool Fish | TikTok | Watch an eligible Game Reward-enabled Minecraft livestream for at least 3 minutes |
| Amethyst Drone | Twitch | Watch a Minecraft Partner or Affiliate livestream for at least 5 minutes |
Both rewards can be claimed on the same Microsoft account. Mojang limits the promotion to one Aqua Cool Fish and one Amethyst Drone per person or Microsoft account.
How to complete the Minecraft Treasure Hunt Watch Challenge
For the TikTok half of the Minecraft Treasure Hunt Watch Challenge, find a Minecraft livestream with Game Rewards enabled and watch it live for at least three minutes. Once the task is complete, TikTok should provide a redemption code for the Aqua Cool Fish.
For the Twitch half, open the Minecraft category and choose a Twitch Partner or Affiliate who is currently live. Watch for at least five minutes to qualify for the Amethyst Drone code.
The two tasks are independent. Doing one does not complete the other, but you are allowed to earn both rewards.
How to redeem the Treasure Hunt pet codes
After completing either Minecraft Treasure Hunt Watch Challenge task, take the code supplied by TikTok or Twitch to Minecraft.net/redeem. Sign in with the Microsoft account you use for Minecraft and enter the 5×5 code.
Make sure you are using the right Microsoft account before redeeming. The promotion is limited per account, so it is much easier to get this right the first time than to try to untangle a reward claimed on the wrong profile.
When does the Minecraft Treasure Hunt Watch Challenge end?
The Minecraft Treasure Hunt Watch Challenge ends on September 13, 2026 at 11:59pm PT. That is the deadline Mojang gives for completing the viewing tasks.
There is a separate redemption-date discrepancy on Minecraft’s own pages. The original event announcement says to redeem by September 13, while the current official redemption page lists September 30, 2026 for both the Aqua Cool Fish and Amethyst Drone.
If you already have a code, there is no good reason to test which date wins. Redeem it immediately. If you have not completed the viewing task yet, September 13 is the date that matters for earning the reward.
Do you need Minecraft Bedrock Edition?
Yes. Mojang states that the Minecraft Treasure Hunt Watch Challenge requires Minecraft Bedrock Edition. The official redemption page says the promotional codes can be redeemed on Xbox and PC, with the content playable across supported platforms after redemption.
This is not a Java Edition cosmetic promotion and it is not a normal Marketplace freebie that can simply be searched for and downloaded without completing the watch tasks.
What is Minecraft Treasure Hunt?
Treasure Hunt is a multiplayer Minecraft experience built around competitive mining. Up to 20 players race through changing mines looking for treasure, with daily challenges, upgrades and abilities adding more to the basic mining loop.
The free companions are being offered as part of that Treasure Hunt promotion. You can find Treasure Hunt through the Minecraft server tab if you want to use the rewards in the experience rather than simply adding them to the collection.
Is the Minecraft Treasure Hunt Watch Challenge worth doing?
For collectors, absolutely. The Minecraft Treasure Hunt Watch Challenge asks for a total of only eight minutes of required viewing if you want both pets: three minutes on TikTok and five minutes on Twitch.
There is no purchase price, both rewards are limited-time items, and the tasks are simple enough to finish in one sitting. If you want the Aqua Cool Fish or Amethyst Drone, complete the watch requirements before September 13 and redeem the codes as soon as they arrive.
