Marvel’s Wolverine Enhanced Senses help Logan track enemies, follow scents, investigate the environment and find useful objects during exploration. The system is not only a stealth tool, because it also highlights clues, conversations, sounds and collectible trails that are easy to miss at normal speed.

Insomniac uses Wolverine’s heightened senses as an exploration layer rather than a permanent detective overlay. You will get the most from it by scanning when an area opens up, then following the specific sound or scent that points toward something useful.

What Marvel’s Wolverine Enhanced Senses do

Enhanced Senses can identify enemy positions for stealth, pick up scent trails and help Logan isolate environmental details. During quieter sections, the same system can guide you toward characters, rooms, music or other sounds connected to optional interactions.

That makes it worth using outside combat. Some of the game’s best environmental details are not placed directly on the objective path, and Enhanced Senses provide a natural way to notice them without checking every corner manually.

Using Enhanced Senses for stealth

Before entering a group of enemies, use the sense system to understand where targets are positioned and which ones can be isolated. Logan can stalk and ambush rather than starting every encounter with an open fight.

Stealth is especially useful when one enemy has an awkward position or when you want to reduce the group before building Rage in direct combat. Enhanced Senses help you choose a target instead of blindly walking into the centre of the room.

How scent trails work

Marvel’s Wolverine Enhanced Senses can follow scent trails tied to objectives and collectibles. Whisky bottles are one of the clearest examples, with blue scent trails helping point Logan toward them during exploration.

Story missions also use scent tracking when Logan needs to locate a person or follow where someone has gone. If an objective feels vague, scanning for a scent trail is often the intended next step rather than searching the map for a marker.

Finding material crates

Material crates have their own strong blue visual effect and an audible presence that Logan can detect. They provide the resources used for suit crafting, which in turn contributes to maximum health progression.

Later, the Crate Finder Adaptation makes this even easier by marking crates from farther away and through walls. Enhanced Senses plus that Adaptation is a useful combination when cleaning up missed materials after the story.

Finding optional conversations and details

Not every sense cue leads to a collectible. In hub-like spaces, Logan can pick up music, conversations or the scent of a teammate and use those clues to find optional character moments and environmental storytelling.

These interactions are worth checking if you care about the cast and Wolverine’s relationships. They are easy to walk past if you only follow the main waypoint from one objective to the next.

Best times to use Enhanced Senses

Use Marvel’s Wolverine Enhanced Senses when you enter a new exploration area, before a stealth encounter, whenever an objective asks you to track someone, and when the environment suggests a collectible may be nearby.

You do not need to keep scanning every few seconds. Treat it as a quick information check, identify the useful trail or sound and then return to normal movement once you know where you are going.

Can Enhanced Senses find every collectible?

They make several collectible types easier to notice, but the game also provides dedicated trackers and Adaptations for cleanup. Whisky Finder and Crate Finder are particularly useful when you are missing only a few items.

Nightmare Doors are harder to miss because their purple roots stand out and many sit close to the main route. Combining the built-in visual cues with Enhanced Senses is enough for most first-playthrough exploration.

Marvel’s Wolverine Enhanced Senses works best when you use it alongside Logan’s wider combat and progression systems, so check the relevant menu and mission tracker instead of treating this mechanic as a one-off unlock.
