The Gorilla Nebula bots are the first major set of collectibles players will encounter in Astro Bot. Across the world’s five main levels, boss stage and hidden challenge stages, there are 42 bots to rescue.

Finding bots is important because they are used to unlock new routes around the Crash Site and progress through parts of the main story. Most bots can be collected by hitting them once, but plenty are hidden behind puzzles, placed on difficult platforms or carried away by enemies.

This guide covers every Gorilla Nebula bot location, including the themed VIP bots based on PlayStation characters.

Before crossing the frozen lake, avoid heading directly across the floating ice blocks.

Drop down to the lower section of the platform instead. Follow the path until you reach the bot sitting close to a snowman.

Creamy Canyon Bot 3

The third bot appears on the main route but is quickly grabbed by a flying tractor-beam enemy.

Follow the enemy towards the summit. When you reach the ladybug robot, knock it onto its back and use the launch pad on its stomach to gain enough height to reach the bot.

This is the Psychic Menace VIP bot.

Creamy Canyon Bot 4

Before climbing the major ice wall, grab the nearby pig enemy.

Throw the pig into the giant icicle positioned in the corner of the platform. Breaking the icicle reveals a glowing crack in the ground.

Stand over the crack and perform a charged spin attack to uncover a ladder. Climb down to find the fourth bot.

Creamy Canyon Bot 5

At the top of Creamy Canyon, enter the circular skating rink where two ladybug enemies are sliding into each other.

Look to the right-hand side of the rink for a ladder leading down the cliff. At the bottom, perform a charged spin attack over the glowing crack.

Inside the hidden room, use the enemies to destroy the surrounding icicles. The fifth bot is concealed behind them.

Return to the skating rink and look towards the raised ledge on the right. Knock over a ladybug robot and position it beneath the ledge.

Drop down onto the ledge beneath it and look for the red block. Grab and pull the block using the alligator ability to reveal the bot.

Az-Tech Trail Bot 3

Defeat the second cactus enemy and look to the right.

A cage filled with apples is positioned nearby. Smash the cage using the alligator punching ability to free the Spinning Marsupial bot.

Az-Tech Trail Bot 4

Continue into the temple until the path splits.

The red block is on the left, while a gold door is on the right. Enter through the gold door to find the fourth bot inside with several enemies.

Defeat the enemies before rescuing the bot.

Construction Derby Bot 1

The first bot is found before crossing the initial glass bridge.

Look along the steel beams to see it hammering away on the metal.

Construction Derby Bot 2

After crossing the glass bridge, defeat the two enemies standing beside the cement pile.

Pull the exposed wire connected to the cement mixer to release the second bot.

Construction Derby Bot 3

Continue until Astro receives the bulldog dash ability.

The third bot is standing on top of a nearby glass wall. Use the bulldog dash to cross the wide gaps between the platforms and reach it.

Construction Derby Bot 4

The fourth bot appears naturally along the main route but is captured by a flying robot.

Cross the pit filled with boxes and defeat the enemy to rescue the bot.

Construction Derby Bot 5

When you reach the paint-covered seesaw, the upward route continues through the level.

Instead, travel down the opposite side to find a portal. Enter the portal and use the controller paint mechanic to reveal the invisible platforms.

Follow the platforms across the room to reach the Lovestruck Lyricist bot.

The invisible platforms remain solid even when they are not completely covered in paint, so you only need enough paint to judge their positions.

Construction Derby Bot 6

Near the end of the level, defeat the second large purple enemy with the oversized metal hands.

A floating construction truck will arrive afterwards. Use the bulldog launch pad to reach the sixth bot standing on the vehicle.

Construction Derby Bot 7

Continue across the steel beams until you reach the partially completed building.

Look to the right for a rotating glass platform. Cross the platform and defeat the two enemies guarding the Shredding Sheep bot.

After climbing the ladder and receiving the ape radar, search the hedge section on the right.

The Nervous Ape is hidden inside the second hedge from the right.

Apes on the Loose Bot 2

Enter the large area with the central statue.

The Natural Ape begins on a crate directly ahead before running away. Chase it through the grass and cut across the inside of its route rather than following directly behind.

Apes on the Loose Bot 3

From the entrance to the statue area, turn left and head towards the fountain.

The Cheeky Ape runs around the outside of the fountain. Move through the centre to intercept it.

Apes on the Loose Bot 4

Look for the rocky area near the fountain where an ape is flying around in a UFO.

Defeat the green enemy on the nearby platform, then pull the dynamite from the ground. Throw the dynamite at the UFO to force it to crash.

Once the Aerial Ape lands, chase and capture it.

Apes on the Loose Bot 5

Travel to the far-left corner of the statue area and search the hedge maze.

The Crazy Ape is hidden inside the middle hedge at the far end.

Apes on the Loose Bot 6

At the back of the main area, climb the ladder.

The Sky-Walking Ape will run across the glass bridge near a puzzle piece. Watch where it steps, then follow the same safe route across the glass and capture it on the other side.

Apes on the Loose Bot 7

Move to the far-right corner and defeat the green enemy on the platform.

Use the flower to glide towards the triangular framework above. Hover across the centre of the beams to catch the Self-Aware Ape.

Apes on the Loose Bot 8

On the right-hand side of the statue area, look for the steps and sloping ramp.

The Goofy Ape will run down the ramp. Circle around the nearby poles to cut it off rather than chasing directly behind.

Apes on the Loose Bot 9

Near the entrance to the statue area is a large patch of mud.

Destroy the banana crate in the middle to reveal the Shy Ape. Hover across the mud to avoid being slowed down and intercept the ape as it runs around the edge.

Apes on the Loose Bot 10

Once enough ape bots have been captured, a grind rail appears around the central statue.

Ride the rail to reach the Spectre boss encounter. Defeat Spectre to rescue the Albino Antagonist bot.
