Genshin Impact Next Year’s Moon Quest: How to Complete It and Rewards

Genshin Impact Next Year’s Moon Quest is a live Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon follow-up that sends you back to Yilong Wharf after a required two-day wait. The main piece of friction is not a puzzle or fight: you must advance the in-game clock by two days, set the time between 12:00 and 16:00, then meet Lan Yan and follow the festival conversations to the end.

The Genshin Impact Next Year’s Moon Quest appears as Next Year’s Moon, Just as Bright and follows the earlier event story Having Met You, My Heart Is Gladdened. If the objective is not appearing yet, finish that prerequisite first and check the Silverwing event’s Festive Priorities section before changing the clock.

To start the Genshin Impact Next Year’s Moon Quest, open the Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon guide event page in-game and make sure the preceding event quest, Having Met You, My Heart Is Gladdened, is complete. The follow-up then gives you the objective to wait until two days later between 12:00 and 16:00.

1. Finish Having Met You, My Heart Is Gladdened.
2. Track Next Year’s Moon, Just as Bright from Festive Priorities or the Quest menu.
3. Open the Paimon menu and select the Time option.
4. Advance the clock by two full in-game days.
5. Set the final time anywhere from 12:00 to 16:00.
6. Travel to Yilong Wharf and follow the quest marker to Lan Yan.

You do not need to wait in real time. Moving the in-game clock is enough. If the marker does not update after changing the time, check that you advanced the date by two days rather than only moving the clock to noon on the current day.

Where to find Lan Yan at Yilong Wharf

The next part of the Genshin Impact Next Year’s Moon Quest takes place around Yilong Wharf in Chenyu Vale. Use the nearby Teleport Waypoint and follow the yellow navigation marker toward the festival area. Lan Yan is initially with Ningguang and members of her family at the tea-terrace gathering.

Once the conversation begins, there is no hidden item to collect and no combat requirement. Speak through the scene until Lan Yan steps away from the gathering with the Traveler and Paimon. Zhongli joins the conversation later on the harbor route before leaving to buy tea leaves.

How to complete Next Year’s Moon, Just as Bright

After meeting Lan Yan, the Genshin Impact Next Year’s Moon Quest is mostly dialogue-driven. Stay with the active objective and move to the next marked conversation point whenever the tracker changes. The final exchange happens around the waterfront, where Lan Yan suggests another walk around the festival and the food street.

The quest completes as soon as the final conversation finishes. There is no chest or separate reward NPC to claim afterward, so if the completion banner appears you are done. This is also a useful point to return to the broader Moonchase Festival 2026 rewards guide and check what remains on the event track.

Genshin Impact Next Year’s Moon Quest rewards

Reward	Amount
Mora	30,000
Mystic Enhancement Ore	5
Fine Enhancement Ore	5

The Genshin Impact Next Year’s Moon Quest does not award Primogems directly in its completion bundle. Its value is mainly the event-story progression and the Mora and weapon enhancement materials listed above. Primogems, Festive Cheer and the limited four-star Sword are earned through other parts of Silverwing, which are covered in our How to Get Silver Light guide and Genshin Impact 7.1 events overview.

Why the quest is not showing

If the Genshin Impact Next Year’s Moon Quest is missing, the most likely cause is prerequisite progress. Complete Having Met You, My Heart Is Gladdened, then reopen Festive Priorities and track the new quest. If it is already tracked but still says to wait, use the clock and move forward two complete in-game days to the required afternoon window.

Also make sure you are looking at the event quest rather than one of the three Silverwing gameplay modes. The story and minigame phases unlock separately. Our Genshin Impact 7.1 update page keeps the wider patch structure together if you are returning after missing the first days of the event.

What to do after Next Year’s Moon

Finishing the Genshin Impact Next Year’s Moon Quest clears this branch of the live Moonchase story and lets you continue through the other September 26 event quests and activities. If you are also collecting Version 7.1 rewards, check the current Genshin Impact codes, the Tabletop Troupe free five-star guide and the Ronova Weekly Boss guide while the limited rewards are still current.

HoYoverse posts the official event notices and any schedule changes on the official Genshin Impact website.
