Genshin Impact Novokitezhgrad and Wingspan Peak are the two new Snezhnaya exploration areas announced for Version 7.2, Hour of Ruin, on 4 November 2026. HoYoverse describes Novokitezhgrad as a city ruled by the fae, while the surrounding eastern reaches carry traces of older calamities.

HoYoverse has already outlined how the new territory fits together: a railway leads into Novokitezhgrad, an underground city built around Kresnik Kristall. Wingspan Peak lies farther east, with Old Kitezhgrad and its buried history waiting to be explored.

Novokitezhgrad opens with the Version 7.2 update on 4 November 2026, alongside Wingspan Peak. Both are described as new areas within Snezhnaya, adding territory to explore beyond the region’s existing map. The exact hour depends on when global maintenance actually finishes.

Maintenance begins on 3 November at 22:00 UTC and is estimated to last five hours. That makes 4 November at 03:00 UTC an expected reopening, not a guaranteed time for players to enter the new locations. You must update your game before accessing the expanded map.

Genshin Impact Novokitezhgrad: What is Novokitezhgrad?

Genshin Impact Novokitezhgrad is a fae-ruled, underground city that HoYoverse describes as Snezhnaya’s main source of Kresnik Kristall. It is surrounded by the material beneath the snowy surface, giving it a very different appearance from the exposed landscape above.

The new area also introduces a Meeting Point story involving Danica, who is carrying out a covert assignment for the Tsaritsa. HoYoverse has teased a powerful creature from the ocean depths in Novokitezhgrad too, so there will be more to discover than the city’s architecture.

Wingspan Peak, mines and Kristall deposits

Wingspan Peak stretches east from the new city and is shaped like a great wing. It contains Old Kitezhgrad, which HoYoverse identifies as Snezhnaya’s first city, founded by the Belyi Tsar. The surrounding mines still carry the scars of older calamities.

The update adds Prime Ice Constructs and two elemental shotguns for dealing with contaminated Kresnik Kristall deposits. Their presence is official, but the exact solutions to puzzles and the locations of every reward will need checking when the areas open.

How to unlock Genshin Impact Novokitezhgrad

HoYoverse says players can take the railway to Genshin Impact Novokitezhgrad. That’s the confirmed travel route into the city. Once Version 7.2 is live, check the expanded Snezhnaya map and follow the game’s new station and story prompts to find the railway.

The pre-release notices do not identify the station or specify which quest, if any, you must complete to board. Exact step-by-step directions and Teleport Waypoint locations should be checked against the updated map on 4 November.

Are there new Teleport Waypoints or Shrines?

Genshin Impact Novokitezhgrad adds explorable territory, but the official early post does not list the number of Teleport Waypoints, Shrines of Depths, chests or regional collectibles in either new area. Existing Snezhnaya maps may be incomplete until the expansion launches.

If you are looking for current locations, our published Snezhnaya Shrine of Depths and hidden Teleport Waypoints guides cover previously available territory. Those routes should not be mistaken for confirmed 7.2 directions until their maps are updated against the new client.

Which quests and rewards will be available?

Two named Meeting Point storylines will lead players further into the expansion. Danica is undertaking a secret assignment in Novokitezhgrad, while Mitya investigates the ground near Teplo Oasis. Their paths are set to cross as the wider crisis develops.

Genshin Impact Novokitezhgrad should also provide fresh exploration routes and hidden rewards after launch. Any walkthrough showing exact chest positions or newly opened Shrines needs verification in the live game; the official announcement gives the areas and story context, not a finished collectible map.

What to prepare before entering the new regions

Check that your game client is ready for Version 7.2, then review your existing Snezhnaya quest progress and exploration tools. After launch, open the updated world map and follow the areas that are actually available to your account.

For Genshin Impact Novokitezhgrad, the confirmed facts today are the name, its fae-ruled identity and its place in the Version 7.2 expansion. Wingspan Peak is the other named addition. Any precise route, shrine count or collectible coordinates should be verified from the live update before being treated as a walkthrough.
