Street Fighter 6 was released in June 2023 to critical acclaim and has helped bring the series back to its glory days. And Tekken 8 is due to release at some time in 2023 but no release date has been given.

We highly recommend you check out both of these games, but here are some more fighting games that are similar to Mortal Kombat 1 that you should check out.

Mortal Kombat 11 is the most recent entry in the series and the third title in the previous reboot of the franchise. The game’s story mode is one of the best in the series, which has a lot of implications for the future of the franchise. If you’re waiting for Mortal Kombat 1 to release then now is the perfect time to check this entry out.

The Injustice series came about as an evolution of the collaborative Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe game that was released in 2008, pitting characters from Mortal Kombat and DC together. After many years we could see plenty of dream matches such as Scorpion vs. Joker.

Injustice 2 plays like Mortal Kombat but features DC characters including Batman, Superman, Harley Quinn, and Aquaman.

Dragon Ball FighterZ

Dragon Ball FighterZ is a 3v3 fighting game similar to Marvel Vs. Capcom. If you’re a fan of Dragon Ball Z then this is a great entry and something different to what most games from the franchise are. The game also features a more unique story mode that for once doesn’t just follow the events of the anime.
