What time will the Splitgate servers be back up and online?

1047 Games’ Splitgate has become an overnight sensation, much like Valheim, and it has caused the development team all kinds of problems. At the moment, the Splitgate servers are offline. This decision was made following a huge announcement from Splitgate’s development team, 1047 Games. Thankfully, we have some idea of when they’re going to come back online. Here’s everything you need to know.

Why Are The Servers Even Offline?

Splitgate’s servers are currently offline due to an overload of concurrent players. A few days ago, Splitgate tweeted out the following message:

We spent all night optimizing more but after talking to AWS, we learned our database (redis) can only handle 65,536 concurrent players (what we hit last night). So no optimizations matter yet. We are working on a queue system to let 65k ppl in until we remove this limitation. pic.twitter.com/SBDpzk0vTy

As it turns out, the Splitgate servers can only handle about 65,000 concurrent players at a time. For a game with over half a million downloads, this isn’t a lot. Especially when you consider the development team has four engineers.

They managed to implement a queueing system, but this did little to help the issues. Thankfully, after a huge financial investment, it looks like things are getting back on track and the servers are coming back…

When Are The Splitgate Servers Coming Back?

At the moment, we don’t know for sure. 1047 Games has stated that they will be coming online at some point in the afternoon of July 27th. This is what they had to say on their social media channels:

” …the servers are NOT going online at midnight. There will be an update tomorrow and servers will be online sometime tomorrow afternoon. Just waiting for final approval on all 3 platforms…”

There are rumours that this will be as late as 17:00 PST / 20:00 EST / 01:00 BST ( July 28th), however, this is worth taking with a grain of salt as we don’t know anything for sure.

Splitgate was due to be released fully on July 27th, however, it was pushed back until August to allow the development team to work on increasing server capacity and stability (amongst other things). 1047 Games has confirmed that some of the planned launch content is still due to be added on July 27th, though.
