The Game Awards 2022: How to watch, date, time, UK time

It is almost time for The Game Awards 2022, where the best games released in the past year will be recognized and honored across 31 different categories, including Best Art Direction, Narrative, Audio Design, genre-based categories, and the 2022 Game of the Year.

The Game Awards will be available to watch online, so you can check out the winners and see many new trailers for upcoming games.

Here is everything you need to know.

Date and Time

The Game Awards 2022 will take place today (December 8th) at 4:30 pm PT/7:30 pm ET/12:30 am GMT (UK time).

This year’s show is expected to be much shorter than previous events, which is good because I think we can all agree that last year’s event dragged on for far too long to the point most people didn’t care by the end of it, so a more condensed show will help to keep fans engaged throughout.

The Game Awards 2022 will be available to watch on both YouTube and Twitch, which you can check out by clicking the links below.

What to expect

In total, there will be 31 categories that fans have voted on to decide the best games released over the past year, including the Game of the Year.

The video games nominated for Game of the Year include:

  • A Plague Tale: Requiem
  • Elden Ring
  • God Of War Ragnarok
  • Horizon Forbidden West
  • Stray
  • Xenoblade Chronicles

In addition to the 31 awards that will be given out during The Game Awards, we can expect to see many new trailers for upcoming releases and some world premieres.

Games we can expect to see include Resident Evil 4 Remake, Starfield, and Hogwarts Legacy.
