Everything that happened during the Xbox + Bethesda Summer Game Fest showcase

Summer Game Fest is almost coming to a close, but there is still time for a few more events to take place and one of those is the Xbox + Bethesda showcase.

The Xbox Summer Game Fest event showcased many of the games that players can expect to play over the coming months and into 2023, with plenty of them being announced for the first time.

Here is everything that was announced during the Xbox + Bethesda Summer Game Fest showcase event.

Redfall Gameplay Reveal

Redfall is an open-world, single-player, and co-op FPS from Arkane Austin, the same studio behind 2017’s Prey and the Dishonored series.

This vampire-themed shooter launches in 2023 and could go on to be one of the best games of the year based on what we’ve seen so far.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Xbox Game Pass Reveal

Hollow Knight: Silksong is the sequel to the 2017 Metroidvania that took the world by storm.

The game is set to release on PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, although we’d be surprised if the game bypasses PlayStation completely, no official announcement has been made yet.

It has been revealed that Hollow Knight: Silksong will launch on Xbox Game Pass on day one.

New High On Life Trailer

High On Life is a game directly from the mind of Justin Roiland, the creator of Rick and Morty, and it shows.

It is wacky, chaotic, and very charismatic. This could be a hidden gem for sure and we’re excited to play the game when it launches.

Riot Games Are Now Available On Xbox Game Pass Including League Of Legends And Valorant

Riot Games is one of the largest video game developers in the world today, with titles such as League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and Valorant being some of the largest and most popular esports titles of all time.

Xbox Game Pass will soon have all of Riot’s catalog on PC and console along with many features and unlocks that will save players a lot of time and money.

Subscribers to Xbox Game Pass will have all Champions unlocked in League of Legends and League of Legends Wild Rift. Along with all Agents being unlocked in Valorant, Foundations Set unlocked in Legends of Runeterra, and select Little Legends unlocked in Teamfight Tactics.

To do this typically requires hundreds of hours of gameplay and a lot of money being spent, so this will be great news for fans of the many titles released by Riot Games.

A Plague Tale: Requiem – End Of Innocence Trailer

A Plague Tale: Requiem is a sequel to the award-winning adventure A Plague Tale: Innocence and is set to launch later this year on Xbox, PC, and PS5. It has been announced that the game will release on day one on Xbox Game Pass for console, PC, and Cloud Gaming.

NEW GAME: Forza Motorsport Announced

The Forza series is one of the key IPs of the Xbox brand, with it being split between the racing sim Motorsport series and the more arcade-style Horizon series.

2021 saw the release of Forza Horizon 5, which we will get to later on in this post, and now attention has been turned to the next entry in the Motorsport series.

Many fans expected it to be called Forza Motorsport 8, but Microsoft has ditched the number and just titled it Forza Motorsport.

Racing games are often used as a showcase for what a platform can pull off in terms of visuals, with them often being the best-looking games available at the time.

Forza Motorsport isn’t any different and is one of the most impressive-looking games we’ve seen this year, and it will be a great test of the ray tracing capabilities of the Xbox Series X.

The game will be released in Spring 2023 on both Xbox and PC, with it coming to Game Pass on Xbox, PC, and Cloud Gaming.

Microsoft Flight Simulator Is Celebrating Its 40th Anniversary

Microsoft Flight Simulator is now 40 years old, with the first game released all the way back in 1982.

To celebrate, an expanded edition of Microsoft Flight Simulator will be released in November 2022, which will feature a partnership with the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in a one-of-a-kind collaboration.

Existing players that use Xbox Game Pass to play can download the Pelican from Halo right now to use in the game.

Overwatch 2 Release Date Announced, Will Be Free To Play

Overwatch 2 is finally set to be released on October 4th, and it has been announced that the game will be free to play, which should help bring a lot of new players to the franchise for the first time.

There will be a reveal event for Overwatch 2 taking place on June 16th at 10 AM PT.

I’m as surprised as you are that Fallout 76 is still a thing, and it is set to receive a major content update too as Expeditions: The Pitt launches this September.

Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels DLC Announced

Hot Wheels is once again returning to the Forza Horizon series as the first major DLC for Forza Horizon 5, which will launch on July 19th.

Race 10 amazing new cars including the lightning fast 2021 Hennessey Venom F5 and the iconic 2000 Hot Wheels Deora II.

Minecraft is the best selling game of all time with over 238 million copies sold since the game was first released back in 2011.

Over the years various spin-off titles have been released and now it is time for the next installment in the series, Minecraft Legends.

Minecraft Legends is an action strategy game that sees players explore mysterious lands filled with lush biomes and rich resources. Take the fight to the piglins before the Nether corruption destroys the Overworld when the game launches in 2023 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Windows and Steam.

NEW GAME: Gunfire Reborn Announced

Gunfire Reborn blends the roguelite and hero shooter genres together with cel-shaded visuals.

The game can be played solo or co-op with up to three other players, featuring over 40 weapons and 100 scrolls and a variety of builds including Sharpshooters and Alchemists.

Gunfire Reborn launches on Xbox Game Pass in October 2022.

The Last Case Of Benedict Fox is a new 2D platform action game that sees the player explore the minds of the recently deceased in search for clues as you uncover the mysteries of an old mansion where a couple was murdered and their child has gone missing.

Expect the game to launch on Game Pass in Spring 2023 on PC and Xbox Series X|S.

As Dusk Falls Release Date Announced

As Dusk Falls is set to launch on July 19th and could be one of the best story-driven games of 2022, with it being an interactive drama.

Players can experience the story solo or in multiplayer with up to eight players when it comes to Xbox, PC via Windows and Steam, and Cloud Gaming as well as a day one launch on Xbox Game Pass.

Naraka: Bladepoint is a samurai-based mythical Battle Royale that has seen over 10 million players jump into it since its launch.

Grounded Is Leaving Early Access

After two years in early access, Grounded is set to receive a full release in September with a fully playable campaign that can be experienced alone or with friends. The full release update will also include new armor recipes, new weapon recipes, and the giant Mantis await players in the upcoming update.

This seems like a really interesting game but one that is difficult to describe.

New Diablo IV Cinematic Trailer And Gameplay Revealed

Diablo IV is one of the most highly anticipated games for 2023 and during the Xbox + Bethesda Summer Game Fest event, the final class in the game was revealed, the Necromancer.

Fans were treated to both a brand new cinematic trailer to show off the Necromancer, as well as a gameplay showcase that dived deeper into what to expect from the game next year.

Sea Of Thieves Season 7 Announced

Sea of Thieves has remained one of Xbox’s most popular games ever since it launched on the Xbox One.

Next month will see the start of Season 7 titled “Captains of Aventure.”

COCOON is the latest game from the lead gameplay designer of LIMBO and INSIDE. COCOON takes you on an adventure across worlds within worlds. Master world-leaping mechanics to unravel a cosmic mystery.

No release date was given but it will be released in 2023 on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S with a day one launch on Xbox Game Pass.

NEW GAME: Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Announced

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty follows the dramatic, action-packed story of a nameless militia soldier fighting for survival in a dark fantasy version of the Later Han Dynasty where demons plague the Three Kingdoms.

This is one of the highlights of the event and a game we will be keeping a close eye on during its development.

Wo Long: Fallen Destiny will be released in early 2023 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and will launch on day one on Xbox Game Pass.

Persona Games Are Coming To Xbox And PC + Game Pass

The Persona series has long been associated with PlayStation, with many of them being exclusive to the console.

Recently we have seen some Persona titles start to make their way to PC, such as Persona 4 Golden.

Now, the series is finally heading to Xbox and will be released on Xbox Game Pass for both console and PC.

Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal will all be making their way to Xbox throughout 2022.

Kojima Productions To Make Games For Xbox

For many months it has been rumored that Xbox was looking to partner with a top Japanese studio on an exclusive title for the brand.

It has now been revealed during the Xbox Summer Game Fest event that Kojima Productions is teaming up with Microsoft to allow Kojima to create the game he has “always wanted to make.”

So far there has been no indication as to what that game could be, but it likely isn’t Death Stranding 2.

Instead, it could be a horror game as the last horror game Kojima worked on got canceled.

New Starfield Gameplay Trailer

When it comes to the most anticipated Xbox games, Starfield without a doubt takes the top spot.

Bethesda showed off its latest RPG during the Xbox Summer Game Fest event and it looks to be their most ambitious yet, with over 1,000 planets to explore and fully customizable, and rideable, ships.

Think of Fallout crossed with No Man’s Sky and then amplify it and you will probably get close to what Starfield looks to achieve.
