The popular anime series by Kohei Horikoshi will receive a new game named My Hero Academia: Ultra Rumble. This time, different from the previous titles, it will be a battle royale game, which will allow up to 24 players to battle each other

The information comes from the latest Weekly Jump edition (the same magazine that publishes MHA), and the first images reveal some of the playable characters. The game will be free to play, but as it’s usual with the genre, it may contain microtransactions.

All we know about My Hero Academia: Ultra Rumble

The first images confirm some of the staple characters, such as Izuku, All Might, Bakugou, and Shoto. Tomura can also be seen in one of the screenshots. Since there will be 24 players on the field, some other heroes might be soon revealed.

The game will be free and will be available on Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam, but currently has no release date set. More information should be soon available on Bandai Namco’s official site and their social media.

The game already has an official site address, which should be online in a few days. According to the magazine announcement, the game will have a closed beta test before its official release, probably for Japan only at first.

The images also show some of the heroes rescuing civilians, while Tomura menacingly approaches one of them. This should be a mechanic included in the game to differentiate it from traditional battle royales. All of the heroes’ quirks will also help in the task, alongside the absence of firearms.

The last big My Hero Academia title was My Hero One’s Justice 2, a 3D action fighter game for the same platforms Ultra Rumble is being released. Some characters were also featured in Jump Force, and there’s also the mobile title The Strongest Hero, which received its global release in 2021.
