The Call of Duty Modern Warfare II campaign is available now, and the full game launches on October 28th, adding multiplayer and, later, Warzone 2.

As games continue to get larger, players need to be mindful of the size of their games to make sure they have enough space on their hard drives to play and update the game.

Here is how big Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is and how many GB you will need to install the game.

How big is Call of Duty Modern Warfare II?

Here are the file sizes for the Call of Duty Modern Warfare II base game across all platforms. This includes the campaign, co-op, multiplayer, and Warzone 2:

  • PC – 30.7GB
  • PS4 – 35.4GB
  • PS5 – 36.2GB
  • Xbox – 37.4GB

Here is how large each aspect of the game is:

PS4

  • Campaign Pack 1: 7.244 GB
  • Campaign Pack 2: 11.598 GB
  • Multiplayer Pack: 5.490 GB
  • Co-op Pack : 3.242 GB
  • Warzone 2: 2.968 GB

PS5

  • Base Game: 36.201 GB
  • Campaign 1: 8.105 GB
  • Campaign 2: 8.609 GB
  • Multiplayer: 4.959 GB
  • Co-op: 2.619 GB

Xbox

On PC, the game automatically installs all aspects of the game, and you can’t choose to only install select parts of it.

The PC requirements for Modern Warfare II do note that players will need 72GB at launch, so these figures will change when multiplayer pre-load begins on October 26th, likely at least doubling the game’s file size.

Activision also isn’t the best at optimizing its games, with some previous Call of Duty games reaching over 100GB, so expect to have to free up some storage space once the updates begin for Modern Warfare II.
