The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II campaign focuses on the single-player campaign with promises of cosmetic rewards for players who finish it.

Will Task Force 141 meet the same fate? Anyone looking to get the answer will find it in the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II campaign. With the campaign heavy on the single-player side of the story, Activision Blizzard is making sure that their players are getting cozy with Task Force 141. The new campaign will be live on October 20 if you are one of those who pre-ordered the game. For everyone else, you can expect it on October 28.

In a recent blog post from the official Call of Duty website, campaign rewards were listed down. Still, they were vague as to whether or not rewards will unlock chapter-by-chapter or if they become available after completing the entire game. If you go through the post further, it does mention that players who get to complete the “full campaign” will be rewarded with a bonus Union Guard weapon blueprint. Logically, that would mean that the campaign would unfold chapter by chapter together with the rewards you get completing them.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II campaign rewards

The same blog post listed “everything you can unlock in chronological mission order”. Here are the campaign rewards:

  • Calling Card: “Soap’s Determination”
  • Emblem: “What’s Done Is Done”
  • 30 Minute Double XP Token
  • 30 Minute Double Weapon XP Token
  • Calling Card: “Chainlinked”
  • Base Operator: Chuy
  • 30 Minute Double XP Token
  • 30 Minute Double Weapon XP Token
  • Calling Card: “Gaz”
  • Base Operator: Nova
  • 1 Hour Double XP Token
  • 1 Hour Double Weapon XP Token
  • Calling Card: “Shadow Company Ops”
  • Base Operator: Reyes
  • 1 Hour Double XP Token
  • 1 Hour Double Weapon XP Token
  • Base Operator: Hutch

The post explicitly mentioned that the rewards are assets of players who have the privilege of preordering the game.  Campaign Early Access means you have an 8-day head start on unlocking all of these before launch. These rewards can be used in Multiplayer and Special Ops, as well as in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 when it launches later this year. From what we know, players will have to wait until November 16 for the rest of the rewards in Warzone 2.0.

The Union Guard weapon blueprint

As mentioned earlier, there is a special bonus for players who get to complete the full campaign. That special reward is the Union Guard weapon blueprint. This elusive Call of Duty weapon is Captain Price’s signature assault rifle. The post also mentioned the four pre-equipped attachments that come with the weapon:

  • 1 x Aim OP-V4 Reflex Optic
  • 1 x SZ 1MW PEQ Laser
  • 1 x FSS Covert V Silencer
  • Lockgrip Precision-40 Underbarrel Vertical Grip

Perks of the four attachments, together with the Union Guard, include better sight image quality, minimal recoil, as well as much better aim stability. The weapon is also an excellent all-around Primary Weapon. It gives an edge to players as it serves as a starting point for all skill levels across all game modes.

To pre-order or not to pre-order Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II

The 8-day head start could be appealing for many fans of the FPS classic. However, before putting in your card details, you might want to know that the blog post mentioned that campaign completion rewards could be unlocked anytime. This means that the head starts you got can easily be overtaken within days, especially for players who plan to spend hours finishing the campaign.

If your question is whether or not pre-ordering Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II would be a good investment, we have leaked information for you. A recent leak on Twitter mentioned that “Treyarch have had their budgets approved for a 2-year lifecycle on their next installment as part of Activision | Blizzard’s 3-year budget cycle.” As to whether or not this would urge you to pre-order the game or not is now your call (of duty).

If you do need that one last reason to settle the score, here’s what Activision Blizzard has to say: “Players who preorder the Vault Edition of Modern Warfare II will receive this benefit plus the Red Team 141 Operator Pack, FJX Cinder Weapon Vault, Season 01 Battle Pass, and 50 Tier Skips.” if you’ve made up your mind, you can pre-order the game on Call of Duty’s official website.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will be available on October 28th, 2022, on PC via Steam and Battle Net, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is scheduled for release later this year on the same platforms.
