Tower of Fantasy: Can you change gender after character creation?

One of the earliest choices you have to make in Tower of Fantasy is to pick between the Male and the Female Wanderer. Not much later in the game, you can also customize your character to suit your style.

From your preferred outfits to facial features, the new shared open-world MMORPG seems to have it all in terms of character customization. However, perhaps one of your biggest questions is whether you can still change the character’s gender later in the game.

If you’re curious, here’s what we know!

How to change gender after character creation

Yes, you can change the gender of the Wanderer in Tower of Fantasy, even after selecting either the male or the female one early on. To do this, simply follow the steps below:

  1. Launch the game.
  2. Tap the Menu button in the upper right corner of the screen. For PC players, you can simply press Escape.
  3. Go to Backpack.
  4. Choose Character in the lower left corner of the screen.
  5. Tap/Click the gender icon on your avatar.
  6. Tap/Click OK.

However, at the moment, doing this will only change the gender icon, NOT the character model, as shown in the image below. We are unsure if this is a bug or if Hotta Studio gives players the chance to identify themselves (although with only two options). For instance, if a male player wants to play as a girl character but wants to show others that he is male, he can simply change the gender icon while having the female avatar.

On the other hand, this could simply be a bug and would be updated soon. However, if you would really like to change your character model to the opposite gender, there’s still something that you can do.

You can simply join a new server. While doing this would restart your progress, the game is pretty new, and you can definitely catch up in no time.
