Tower of Fantasy: Apophis guide

Apophis is one of the world bosses in Banges. It is known for its mobility and ability to one-shot players at a disadvantage in Tower of Fantasy.

The second world boss you will encounter, if you are following the game’s story progression, is Apophis. It is located in the North Highlands of the Banges region. If you take the Black Market Spacerift and follow the trail to the top of the mountain, you will see a large group of bones scattered in an arena. In the middle is the world boss, Apophis.

Unlike Robarg, you may have to encounter some monsters that reside just outside the arena before you can meet Apophis. Most players prefer wiping out the other monsters surrounding Apophis before taking on the mini-boss.

Since Apophis is a world boss, the encounter with it should be done through a raid. It is also important that players know its weakness and resistance first before trying to engage the enemy.

Apophis weakness and move set

This world boss is weak against the Frost Resonance. Given the enemy’s mobility, you can use the Guren Blade (Frigg) if you prefer to engage it in close combat. Using the ultimate skill of this weapon and maximizing it with the unlimited dodge you get in the AoE should counter the mobility of Apophis.

Unlike Robarg, Apophis only has one form. However, aside from being very mobile, it also has more moves than the first-world boss. Some of the moves of Apophis will not have early warnings, unlike Robarg.

Here are the moves that Apophisd uses:

• Boulder Throw – Depending on your current location from this world boss, Apophis will normally target those using long-range weapons. The warning is when it starts to dig its claws into the dirt and will send a boulder toward the player. Take note that this happens almost instantly. The best way to dodge it is to keep moving sideways against the world boss.

• Pounce – Apophis will start cowering its body, like a tiger preparing to attack its prey. It will then leap towards the Wanderer. Anyone on the way when it jumped will be knocked back, including the target when it pounced. The best way to dodge it is for you to wait for the red warning that will appear on the screen. This move also causes the world boss to go out of bounds of the arena. Make sure not to go too far. Otherwise, its HP will be reset.

• Spirit Bomb For its ultimate, it will raise its claws to the sky as it charges up its orb of energy. While charging, smaller orbs of energy will fly out around it in random directions. Once it is done charging, it will then throw its big energy orb towards its target, dealing AoE damage to its surroundings once it hits or it lands on the ground.

• Claw Swipe Apophis will be in a sitting position and start clawing whatever is in front of it. There are a total of three swipes. It will start with its right; then it’s left, then both its paws at the same time. A red warning will appear on your screen before this happens, so you need to be alert if you are fighting it in close combat. The best way to dodge it is to move backward against the world boss.

• Spirit Bomb This move will take a few seconds to complete. Once you see it raise its paws to the sky, it will start charging a giant orb in the middle of its claws. The orb will then discharge a barrage of energy balls that can one-shot a player. As a final act of this move, it will send the giant ball to a target and would also cause damage to those surrounding the impact. The only way to dodge all of its attacks when it is doing this move is to stay away from it as far as possible.

Preparation and Rewards

The best way to prepare for this world boss is to have at least two weapons of the Frost Resonance. If you do not have high combat strength, it is advisable to use long-range weapons to attack at a safe distance, as this world boss is very mobile. Make sure to check your relics. Use buffs that will increase your damage with Frost Resonance, and make sure you are stacked with food before engaging the enemy.

Rewards for defeating Apophis are random. However, there is a small chance you might get a random SSR weapon and matrix. You will also get random weapon upgrade materials and data packs.

Make sure to decrypt the treasure chest of the world boss as well before leaving. This world boss respawns every 30 minutes to an hour.
