While Patch 6.25 for Final Fantasy XIV hasn’t brought any of the balance updates many were expecting, it was the introduction of some new mechanics, content, and much more. Among some of them, such as the Variant and Criterion Dungeons and the Omicron Tribal Quests, we were presented with the long-awaited Manderville Weapons.

These are Endwalker’s version of the Relic Weapons, special arms that require players to go the extra mile to obtain. Aside from their decent stats, those weapons feature multiple versions tied to different quest steps. With each new step, the weapon changes and gets a special glowing effect, making them excellent choices for Glamours.

The weapons will continue to receive updates as new patches come, becoming the strongest weapon in the game at its final step. Keep in mind that this step will only be available near the end of the expansion, so Savage weapons will still be the best ones available for a while.

Here you’ll find how to obtain these weapons and which will be the requirements for each step. As the weapons themselves are updated, we’ll also update this guide with new information and the best ways to farm for the required materials.

How to start the Manderville Weapons quest

As the name suggests, the new Relic Weapons are tied to the Hildibrand quests, which are sidequests ranging from A Realm Reborn to Endwalker. so if you haven’t completed them already, you need to do so before you can tackle the new quests.

The questline is mostly a comedy series revolving around the misadventures of Hildibrand Manderville and his assistant Nashu Mhakaracca. If you don’t care for lore, you can just skip them all, as most of them are just conversations, but they are very much worth your time.

You’ll also get some exclusive rewards such as the Manderville dance emotes, exclusive glamour, and access to trials such as Battle in the Big Bridge and Kugane Ohashi, in which we get cameos from Gilgamesh in Final Fantasy XIV.

After getting through all of this, you can finally start the weapons questline in Radz-at-Han X:11.8, Y:11.2, near the Aetheryte. The Excitable Youth will give you The Sleeping Gentleman quest. If you have already completed it previously to the 6.25, you’ll meet Nashu instead, who’ll grant you the Lunar Conspiracy quest.

These are all different parts of the same questline, so just go with the flow while admiring the usual Hildibrand shenanigans. After completing all of the quests, you’ll be back in Radz-at-Han presented with the quest Make it a Manderville in X:11.8, Y:11.2.

This is our goal, as this quest presents us with the first of the many Manderville Weapons. In order to obtain it, equip the correspondent Job before accepting the quest. The quest will require you to obtain 3x Manderium Meteorites, which can be bought with Jubrunnah for 500 Allegan Tomestones of Astronomy each.

After getting the Meteorites to the House Manderville manservant, you’ll finally get your Manderville Weapon! Further, Manderville Weapons will have the same requirements, so you can easily get them for some Tomestones.

The Weapons currently have only this single step, so it’s quite simple to complete them and wait for the next upgrades in future patches.

Tomestones of Astronomy is obtained for completing Lv 90 activities, mainly the Level 90 Dungeons and the Expert daily roulettes. Completing other roulettes using an lv 90 job will also get you some of those.

Another efficient way of getting them is by diving into Hunt Trains and scoring some A/S Rank monsters. You can search for dedicated Discord servers, such as Centurio Hunts, to get notifications for those.

Wondrous Tails is also an efficient way to instantly get 500 Tomestones, granted you were lucky enough to get 2 lines.

Are the Manderville Weapons worth it?

As said before, all Relic Weapons are eventually the strongest weapons available in the expansion. This is not currently the case as Abyssos weapons are still better, but they are on par with the newest Extreme Trial weapons, being easy and accessible choices for alt jobs.

If you don’t care for high-end content, you may go for them as they don’t require much grinding (unless you’re going for multiple weapons) and are good options even when compared to other available weapons.

Final Fantasy XIV is available now on PC, PS4, and PS5.
