FNF Week 5 HD Makes its Funky Debut!

Friday Night Funkin HD is undoubtedly one of the most popular mods in the FNF community, and for good reason. The charming art, dialogue, and even gameplay touches makes this one of the most ambitious mods around while keeping the Newgrounds charm of the original. Finally, FNF Week 5 HD has released so let’s see what was added!

The premise for FNF Week 5 HD is kinda the logical conclusion of how out of place the original Week 5 was. A surprise Christmas thing with GF’s parents was unexpected but not unwelcome, and the original week contained a ton of references to Newgrounds talents throughout the years.

In the mod, however, it continues the plotline of Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest trying to kill The Boyfriend. They confront the lovers in the mall, holding the Mall Santa hostage at gunpoint to mess with BF. It’s all told to be family bonding, but it isn’t really hard to read between the lines here. An excuse is made for the sudden Lemon Demon song at the end of the original Week 5, though it still comes pretty out of left field.

Additionally, a bonus was added in the form of a Date Week, original content where BF serenades GF to practice for his upcoming struggles and to make some moves. The song is pretty chill and all the new art is as charming as before. It’s a nice and heartwarming addition that the group behind FNF HD didn’t need to include, but did anyway.

So, now we wait for Week 6 HD… Based on the past trend of releases, I’d guess we can expect to see the next week before October at the latest. Even if it takes longer, I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait!
