A new patch is available for Elden Ring, and while it solved one of the main saving issues players were facing during its initial release, some other bugs are still present, and it seems that new ones have also decided to join the fray.

The biggest problem was a bug in which the game crashed, and players (mostly from PS5) would have their save files corrupted. Other problems include FPS-related issues, and FromSoftware has since been actively releasing new updates to remediate those issues, and that was the case with patch 1.02.2, released a few hours ago.

Features of the new Elden Ring patch

The latest version for Elden Ring was announced through the game’s official social media:

Alongside usual minor bugfixes, the main attraction of the new patch was focused on a problem in which PC players would have an abnormally low FPS. While the game does require a lot from your hardware, it seems that some graphic cards were not even working properly. The game still has a 60 FPS lock though.

PS5 players may also have experienced the unlucky situation of having their save file corrupted. It could happen with a random crash or by simply leaving their console on Rest Mode. The game wouldn’t save properly, leading to this awkward situation in which your progress could be completely lost. It seems that it has also been patched.

But some old problems persist. Since day 1, players have found invisible enemies, a rendering problem that has since persisted, and it seems that this problem is now affecting other gameplay elements. In the same thread, we can see some players showcasing new issues they have been finding with invisible equipment in their own characters.

It’s been less than a week since the game’s launch, and this was the third patch the game received. While it shows that there’s still a lot to improve on the game, it also shows that the developers are working towards bringing the best of the experiences to the players. Let’s hope they can do it.

Elden Ring is the latest game produced by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco. The open-world RPG game was produced by Hidetaka Miyazaki (from previous Souls games) and George RR. Martin (from Game of Thrones), and it’s available for PC, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One and Series X/S.
