Genshin Impact: New Spectral Secrets event available now

Last Updated on: 20th September 2021, 01:25 pm

An old event is back to Genshin Impact, but this time, with different enemies as its focus: Spectral Secrets is the new version of the old 1.3 event, Vishaps and Where to Find Them, focusing on the recently-arrived Geovishaps enemies. This time, we’re hunting the Specters.

The event itself consists of sending your (or your friend’s) characters into special explorations, which give you special rewards including Primogems, Experience books, Mora, and many more.

How to participate in the Spectral Secrets event

You’ll notice a quest in Inazuma’s Katheryne, who’ll ask you to investigate a sudden increase in the number of Specter enemies around the islands. You’ll gain access to an extra tab in the Expedition menu, where you need to send your characters on special Expeditions to get the event prizes.

It works exactly the same way as the Vishaps version of the event did. There are S, A and B-rank expeditions. Harder versions will give you more prizes, so go for the bigger fish.

In order to unlock the S expeditions, you first need to investigate the marked spot and complete the mini puzzles, which will usually involve beating some Specter enemies along the way. It’s a good way to farm the Ascension Materials for “The Catch” polearm if you’re going for it. And you should since it’s a great weapon.

In order to get the maximum prizes, your Expedition Rating must be “Perfect”. Use the specified elements in the expedition to get a higher rating. 5-star characters usually give a better rating than 4-stars will.

You can borrow a character from a friend to help you get a better rating for the Spectral Secrets expeditions. This way, there’s no need to have a lot of characters from the required elements to maximize your prizes. More information can be found on the official event announcement.

Spectral Secrets is just a small task while we wait for the main attraction of the 2.1 version, the Moonchase Festival. The event will feature story updates, lots of Primogems and the glorious Luxurious Sea-Lord Claymore, the giant fish sword which is unironically strong.
