New footage for the newest weekly boss in Genshin Impact is up, which is no one else than the Raiden Shogun herself. After defeating her ideals during the Inazuma Archon Quest, we’ll now have a new (weekly) chance to challenge the Eternity Archon once more.

The new footage showcases her skills as a boss, and it seems that she has two forms. The first one is the regular one, where many of her moves are taken from the storyline battles against her. The second form is the empowered state, which is completely new.

The credits for the footage go to GI Front, who has been in charge of reliable leaks in the past. It was also featured in the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor discord server, where leaks are filtered between trustable or suspects, so they can be safely trusted.

While the first phase is simply a tuned-up version of her already-shown skillset as a boss, her second form is a whole new world of pain. The eye-catcher here is her time stop ability, which fits her theme as a god who chases stillness and eternity.

A fun fact is that some of the first leaks claimed that the Shogun would have a similar ability as a playable character, but it was sadly a fake skill kit.

Another curious detail is that, in this new form, Raiden is even more similar to her Honkai counterpart, Raiden Mei. In fact, this new form seems to be almost completely based on Mei’s Herrscher of Thunder battlesuit.

This is somehow ironic because people initially expected the Shogun’s design to be directly taken from this specific battlesuit. Instead, she’s more like regular Mei. 5 patches later, the Herrscher look is finally here.

For lore enthusiasts, this fight may be an (exaggerated) memory from our previous conflicts with the Shogun. Or of course, it may be a whole new fight with Ei or the puppet itself. Yae Miko will use the Raiden Shogun’s drops to level her talents, and the same may be said for the next few characters.
