Genshin Impact: How to unlock the ‘Red Desert Threshold’ domain

One-time domains in Genshin Impact are usually unlocked after solving puzzles. Others, however, do not require puzzles. They simply need you to finish certain quests or get started on them. One such domain is the Red Desert Threshold (Edge of the End) in the desert subregion of Sumeru.

While exploring the vast deserts of Sumeru, chances are you have found this domain marked on your map. The map says it’s near Abdju Road. However, when you head over to the area, there appears to be no domain around.

Don’t worry! If you can’t find the Red Desert Threshold domain, you’ve come to the right place. We’ll tell you how you can unlock it, so you can take on the challenge and reap the rewards.

How to unlock the ‘Red Desert Threshold’ domain in Genshin Impact

To unlock the Red Desert Threshold (Edge of the End), you must first start the Golden Slumber series of World Quests by talking to Bonifaz in Aaru Village. This series of quests can only be triggered if your Adventure Rank is at least 32. Check out the images below to find the quest’s location.

Note that there is no need to complete the World Quest chain; you only have to start it. Doing so will change the Abdju Road area (check map above) in the Sumeru desert into Abdju Pit (check map below). You can choose to go challenge the domain or go on with the quest.

If you wish to access the domain, simply head over to the location of Abdju Pit. Once in the area, glide down into the pit until you find the Red Desert Threshold domain.
