The Evermotion mechanical painting part restoration 5 puzzle is a continuation of the latest short-term event in Genshin Impact, following on from 4 previous puzzles and is by far the most complex yet. While it hasn’t introduced a new mechanic like day 3 did, it has combined previous ones to make this puzzle as difficult as we’ve seen so far.

In fact, this is the first one so far I had to make use of the hint to solve, so it does seem that this puzzle has upped the difficulty a little bit. The hint has been included below to help explain the puzzle solution. Using it we can see that we need to use a medium gear, a large gear, and both provided Duplex gears to solve this one. As the only one of these that will fit, the standard size Duplex gear must be used in position 5 to connect with the final gear.

That leaves us with a large Duplex gear alongside a standard medium and standard large gear to work with. Only the medium gear can fit into slot one without using the large duplex there, so we place a medium gear into position 1. Follow this up by placing the large gear into position 2, and then the large duplex gear into position 4.

If you then add the standard sized Duplex gear into position 5, you will solve the Evermotion mechanical painting part restoration 5 puzzle. Note that both Duplex gears must be larger side upwards for this solution to work. If you can see the larger half below the smaller half of the gear, it’s the wrong way around. You’ll need to flip them so that you can only see the large half on top.

I was expecting these to stay around the same difficulty level after the 4th day puzzle turned out to not really be any more difficult than the previous ones, but part restoration 5 here has really thrown a wrench into that.
