To maximize Hu Tao’s damage, she must hit enemies with Charged Attacks after using her Elemental Skill. This is for her to mark enemies with the “Blood Blossom,” which will periodically deal Pyro DMG.

Moreover, you might need to dash-cancel the animation after her Charged Attacks for smoother gameplay. If you didn’t already know, dashing/sprinting has an Immunity Frame or a window of time that makes the character immune to any damage. This means that Hu Tao’s survivability can be increased the more dash-cancels she does. Since she has a unique mechanic that urges you to lower her HP to less than 50%, dodging enemy attacks via dashing/sprinting can be vital.

Of course, dash-canceling will eat away her Stamina, so C1 allows her to use her Charged Attacks more often and increase her overall damage potential.

Why should I get Staff of Homa?

Since Staff of Homa is Hu Tao’s signature weapon, it only follows that everything this polearm has to offer benefits her. The weapon can boost Hu Tao’s CRIT DMG and HP. Moreover, the polearm’s passive allows her to deal more damage when her HP is below 50%. On top of her 4th ascension passive, which has a similar effect, she will definitely be able to deal considerable amounts of DMG.
