It’s almost time! Treyarch have given fans a first-look at the gameplay of the upcoming Cold War Zombies map: Firebase Z. Firebase Z is the next chapter in Treyarch’s Dark Aether storyline.

Requiem’s story isn’t over yet. After successfully destroying “Projekt Endstation” in the thrilling storyline of Die Maschine, Weaver is sending his team further afield into the next Dimensional Breach.

Outpost 25, nicknamed Firebase Z, is buried deep in the jungles of Vietnam and is the location of the next Dark Aether outbreak. Requiem has been sent there to contain the wild energy and kill as many zombies as it takes to do so. Classic Cold War Zombies stuff, really.

We got a teaser earlier in the week, but now Treyarch have dropped a full trailer for us to enjoy ahead of it’s moved-up release date!

Yep! Requiem is headed to Vietnam in Firebase Z! There’s going to be Dark Aether Portals, New Wonder Weapons, and a whole lot more on the Zombies-front!

Samantha Maxis appears to take centre-stage in the trailer, which also suggests that she will be an upcoming Operator in Black Ops Cold War Season 2! However, she isn’t alone…

“Omega must be stopped.” is the sentiment of Firebase Z and Maxis has teamed up with the mysterious Ravanov to achieve this. He appears to be some sort of Vietnam Liaison for Weaver, who’s presumably running things from Langley.

New Perks & More

In addition to the new map, Treyarch is adding a few new things to Black Ops Cold War Zombies.

Firstly, there’s a new perk! Tombstone is coming to Firebase Z. Check out a leaked first-look below!

Tombstone Soda has the following description:

” When downed, become a shadow in the Dark Aether armed with your weapons that can revive you. If your shadow loses all its health, you die.”

Like the other perks that can be found in Cold War Zombies, Tombstone also has three Tiers. They are:

  • Tier I – Shadow form can regenerate health.
  • Tier II – Increase downed duration to 60 seconds.
  • Tier III – On death, drop a Tombstone stash that saves your weapons, equipment, and resources.

Oh, and if you’re still playing Die Maschine? Don’t worry! The Tombstone Perk will also be available in Der Wunderfizz machine on top of the Nacht Der Untoten roof.
