Forza Horizon 6 PS5 now has a confirmed release date: January 26, 2027, with five days of early access starting January 21 for Premium Edition owners. Playground Games announced the PS5 release and opened pre-orders on October 8, 2026. The port supports a 60 FPS Performance mode, 4K/30 FPS Quality mode, cross-play and cross-save with Xbox and PC.
If you’re deciding which edition to buy, there’s a major difference beyond early access. Premium includes the first expansion arriving on January 21, while Standard and Deluxe arrive on January 26. There’s also a Ferrari J50 pre-order bonus. Here’s how the dates, editions, performance and transfers work on PS5.
Forza Horizon 6 PS5 release date and early access
The standard launch is Tuesday, January 26, 2027. Premium Edition early access begins Thursday, January 21, five days sooner. Playground Games has not confirmed a universal release hour in its announcement, so don’t assume midnight UK access without checking the PlayStation Store countdown closer to release.
A physical PS5 edition will also be available at participating retailers. The port was developed by Panic Button alongside Playground Games and Turn 10. You can pre-order digital editions from the PlayStation Store now; the game originally launched on Xbox and PC in May 2026.

Forza Horizon 6 PS5 Standard, Deluxe and Premium editions
| Edition | Release date | Included content |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | January 26 | Full game |
| Deluxe | January 26 | Full game, Welcome Pack, Car Pass |
| Premium | January 21 | Full game, VIP, Welcome Pack, Car Pass, Time Attack Car Pack, Italian Passion Car Pack, Expansion 1 and future Expansion 2 |
The Premium Upgrade is also offered separately for players who own an eligible base edition, but it requires the game. The official announcement calls the first expansion part of Premium, Premium Upgrade and the Expansions Bundle, with a separate purchase option for others. It’s scheduled to arrive across supported platforms on January 21.
Forza Horizon 6 PS5 60 FPS, Quality mode and graphics
Playground confirmed two visual settings for the PS5 version: Quality at 4K and 30 FPS, and Performance at 60 FPS. The pre-order trailer was captured on a base PS5 in Quality mode. Specific resolution targets for Performance mode haven’t been announced, so the 4K figure shouldn’t be applied to both modes.
The game takes place across Japan, with urban driving, countryside roads, Horizon Festival racing and community-created events. Nothing in the announcement suggests that the PS5 edition is a separate, cut-down campaign. If smooth steering and fast camera movement matter more to you, Performance is the obvious mode to try first.
Does Forza Horizon 6 PS5 support cross-play and cross-save?
Yes. Playground confirms both cross-platform multiplayer and cross-save between PS5, Xbox and Steam. Community-created content is shared too, including EventLab races, Prefabs, Garages, Estates, Liveries and Tuning Setups. That means PS5 players won’t start with an empty community catalogue when the port launches.
Cross-save support is confirmed, but the announcement doesn’t provide every account-linking screen or transfer prompt. Follow the in-game instructions when the PS5 edition releases rather than assuming a PlayStation account alone automatically finds a particular Steam save.

Forza Horizon 6 PS5 Ferrari J50 pre-order bonus
Pre-order any PS5 edition to receive a pre-tuned Ferrari J50. It won’t simply appear in the garage the moment the download finishes: Playground says it will be added after you begin the game and complete the prologue. The bonus applies to Standard, Deluxe and Premium pre-orders, not only the most expensive version.
Is the expansion included with Forza Horizon 6 PS5?
The first Premium Expansion arrives January 21, 2027, the same day Premium early access begins. Premium owners receive it within their edition, while other players can purchase it separately. Playground has also announced a free content update for all existing platforms alongside the expansion and PS5 launch, with further details coming closer to release.
The second expansion is included in Premium but has a later, unannounced release date. Don’t mistake the January 21 expansion launch for an early opening of the Standard Edition; that version of Forza Horizon 6 PS5 still arrives January 26.
Where to pre-order Forza Horizon 6 PS5
Find the game’s PS5 listing in the PlayStation Store, choose the edition and confirm your purchase. You can also look for physical Standard copies at participating retailers. Check the correct edition name, included packs and store’s regional pricing before paying.
With the dates now confirmed, the main choice is whether five days’ early access and the expansions justify Premium for you. Standard gets the complete Japan campaign on January 26, while every pre-order can claim the Ferrari J50 after finishing the opening prologue.
