Fortnite Water Sprite Fixed is one of the biggest gameplay changes included in today’s Fortnite update. After players reported issues with the Water Sprite’s healing ability, Epic Games has now confirmed that the problem has been resolved as part of the latest patch.
If you’ve been avoiding Water Sprites because they weren’t working correctly, you can now use them as intended once again.
Fortnite Water Sprite Fixed in Today’s Update
The latest Fortnite update includes two important fixes affecting Water Sprites in Battle Royale and Zero Build.
Epic Games confirmed the following changes:
- Water Sprite once again heals you while in water.
- Fixed an issue where dropping a Sprite to extract it into a Water Sprite wouldn’t grant Sprite Dust or properly create the Water Sprite.
These fixes restore one of the most useful support mechanics introduced this season.

What Was Wrong With Water Sprites?
Before today’s update, some players noticed that Water Sprites weren’t consistently providing their intended healing effect while standing in water.
Another bug prevented players from successfully converting a Sprite into a Water Sprite in certain situations, meaning they wouldn’t receive Sprite Dust and the interaction could fail completely.
Both issues have now been addressed.
How Water Sprites Work
Water Sprites are designed as support companions that help keep players alive during fights.
Once activated, they can provide healing while you’re standing in water, making rivers, lakes and other water areas much safer places to recover health.
With today’s patch, those healing effects should now function correctly again.
More Sprite Changes in Today’s Update
The latest update also included another Sprite-related fix.
Epic Games confirmed that dealing Shield damage now correctly contributes toward the Aura Sprite’s Shock Rock charge and triggers the Fire Sprite’s burst damage effect.
Together, these changes improve how several of this season’s Sprite mechanics function during matches.
Fortnite Water Sprite Fixed Brings the Healing Ability Back
The Fortnite Water Sprite Fixed update restores one of Chapter 6 Season 4’s most useful mechanics. If you’ve experienced problems with healing or converting Sprites during recent matches, today’s update should resolve both issues, allowing Water Sprites to function exactly as Epic Games intended.
