Fortnite Pirate Shop Token Farming Routes: Best Chest Locations

Fortnite Pirate Shop Token farming is one of those things that sounds easy until you’ve opened what feels like a thousand Chests and still haven’t seen that glorious reward (us included). There isn’t a secret Chest waiting to hand you Pirate Shop Access. What you can control is how many you manage to open before someone sends you back to the lobby.

We’d love to give you one perfect route, complete with a big red X and a guaranteed token at the end. If only. We’ve looked at the map and the chest loops players are sharing, and we reckon there are three sensible approaches to Fortnite Pirate Shop Token farming. Which one we’d choose depends on whether we’re digging for everything, playing a normal match or trying to avoid half the lobby.

Best Fortnite Pirate Shop Token farming routes at a glance

One lesson from Fortnite Pirate Shop Token farming? Pick a circuit you can actually finish. A supposed 30-Chest run is useless if you get eliminated after opening four. Here’s how we’d choose.

Route Best for The trade-off
The Chest Lots of buried chest spots Popular with other players
Arlong Park to Lantern Landing Building-to-building looting Watch the Storm on the rotation
North of Plunder Port A short solo island loop Water crossings and variable spawns
Split Squad routes Covering several areas at once Coordinate and regroup for fights

The Chest: our pick for the biggest chest hunt

The Chest is the enormous pirate chest landmark in the northwest of Crossbones Isle. The sandy ground around it has a lot of buried spots, with community route maps showing roughly 30 or more possible buried Chests in the wider area. That is a count of possible locations, not a guarantee they’ll all appear in every match.

For this Fortnite Pirate Shop Token farming route, we’d start on the eastern high ground, grab a weapon from the nearby ridge and then work down towards the landmark. Dig in one direction rather than running back and forth. The Chest is a landmark, not a guaranteed token dispenser. You’re searching the smaller Chests around it.

The hardest part of Fortnite Pirate Shop Token farming at The Chest is the competition. Plenty of players have seen the same spots. We’d leave rather than get stuck fighting over a single patch of sand. If you’ve got Plundarrgh, its movement and Pickaxe speed bonus after opening Chests makes a digging-heavy run more comfortable.

Arlong Park to Lantern Landing: our everyday favourite

If we’re looking for a match that doesn’t feel like a full-time excavation job, we’d start at Arlong Park. Get a weapon, clear the main multi-storey building from the upper floors down, then check the courtyard and neighbouring rooms. There’s something satisfying about working through one building properly instead of sprinting towards distant Chest icons.

Head east towards Lantern Landing when you’re finished and search the buildings along the way. This is the Fortnite Pirate Shop Token farming route we’d give a friend who wants to chase the reward without ignoring the rest of Battle Royale. You can still fight, loot and rotate like a normal human being.

Don’t be stubborn about it, though. If Lantern Landing is swarming with players or the Storm is pulling south, turn towards Windmill Village instead. A sensible detour beats dying because a route guide (cough cough ours) told you to follow a line on a map.

Loguetown to the islands north of Plunder Port: the shorter loop

This is the one we’d try for a quick solo run. Just south of Loguetown and north of Plunder Port is a cluster of small islands and nearby shoreline. A widely shared player route around this area counts roughly 11 to 23 possible Chest spots, depending on which ones spawn. We like that it’s a circuit, not a cross-island expedition.

For Fortnite Pirate Shop Token farming here, land at one edge of the cluster, grab a weapon and work around the islands in a single direction. Check the Chests you can reach, then move to the next patch of land. A mobility item helps with the water crossings; without one, don’t spend forever travelling to a lone Chest.

Fewer theoretical Chests doesn’t automatically mean a worse run. We’d take a dozen actual openings over a busy hot drop where we manage three before getting eliminated. That’s the appeal of this route, especially if you’re trying again and again.

In Squads, we’d split up instead of sharing every Chest

For Squad Fortnite Pirate Shop Token farming, our approach changes completely. Don’t have four people follow each other into every room. Give one teammate The Chest, another Arlong Park and send the others to separate clusters. Keep talking, and regroup when fights or the Storm make it necessary.

Players have reported that eligible squadmates receive Pirate Shop Access together when someone in the team finds it. The team can search more Chests at once, but there is no evidence that choosing Squads improves the odds on any individual opening. We’ve covered the sharing details in our squad rewards guide. Froma personal perspective though, the only items i’ve had so far have been in squads and not solo, so 4 players have proved better than one.

A few Fortnite Pirate Shop Token farming tricks worth using

A Fortune Sprite reveals nearby Chests. That’s genuinely useful when you’re hunting through buildings, because it stops you wasting time checking empty corners. Plundarrgh helps with speed once you start opening Chests. Neither comes with a proven Pirate Shop Token drop-rate boost.

Chests also refill over time, as Epic confirmed. If your normal route passes somewhere you’ve already searched, check whether the loot has returned. We wouldn’t sit beside one Chest waiting all match, though. Epic hasn’t explained whether a refilled Chest offers another independent Pirate Shop reward roll.

And please don’t waste a match chasing some supposedly lucky golden Chest. The first reported Pirate Shop Access win came from an ordinary-looking Chest. There are community reports of additional special and buried Chest types being eligible, but Epic hasn’t published a complete official list. Our Chest locations guide goes through the evidence.

Which route would we actually recommend?

For us, Arlong Park to Lantern Landing is the best all-round Fortnite Pirate Shop Token farming choice. The Chest is the dedicated grind option if you can cope with a busy landing, while the Plunder Port islands suit shorter solo sessions. That’s an opinion about making your runs manageable, not a claim that one location has luckier Chests.

No Fortnite Pirate Shop Token farming route guarantees a token, despite all these click bait videos circulating. Epic hasn’t published the drop percentage, so any guide promising a winning number of Chests is selling you a fairy tale. More openings mean more opportunities, and that’s as far as the maths can honestly go. If one area is chaos, switch routes and save yourself the frustration.

If you do land Pirate Shop Access, have a look at our activation guide before starting the 14-day clock. It’s a prize worth thinking about before you press the button.
