Fortnite Parental Controls PIN is a six-digit code used to manage a child’s Epic Games account restrictions. If a parent or guardian knows the PIN, it can be changed in the Epic account’s Parental Controls page. If it’s forgotten, Epic provides an email reset process sent to the guardian address associated with the child’s account.
Use the instructions on Epic’s official account or Fortnite settings pages, and keep any password, PIN or one-time login code private. Account eligibility and available controls can vary by the player’s age.
Open the correct Epic account
Visit epicgames.com/account/parental-controls and sign in to the child’s Epic Games account. If the child mostly plays through a console, confirm that the Epic Account ID on the website matches the in-game account; otherwise you might reset a PIN for an entirely different profile. Epic specifically calls out this account mismatch during parental-control troubleshooting.
Change the PIN when you know it
Enter the current six-digit PIN and select Confirm. Under Parental PIN choose Change PIN, enter the new code and confirm the update. The guardian should choose a PIN they can remember but a child cannot easily guess. Fortnite Parental Controls PIN protects settings such as age ratings, communications and purchase permissions, not the Epic account password itself.

Fortnite Parental Controls PIN: reset a forgotten PIN
On the Parental Controls page select Forgot your PIN? and confirm the reset request. Epic sends instructions by email, with minor accounts directing the reset to the parent or guardian email address linked to the child. Follow the official email link to set a new PIN. Don’t use third-party reset generators, and never share the new code with a site claiming to unlock Fortnite rewards.
Why the email goes to a different inbox
The child’s account may have a guardian email address distinct from the login email. Epic says parental PIN reset messages for minors are sent to that guardian contact. Check the linked guardian’s inbox and spam folder. If the wrong adult is receiving the emails, the account’s parental contact may need review through Epic Support rather than a workaround that changes the child’s age.
Fortnite Parental Controls PIN: the reset request says Something Went Wrong
Epic recommends confirming you’re signed into the child account, then clearing browser cookies and cache, trying a private window, a different browser or another device. If the same message returns, use Epic’s parent or guardian support route. Fortnite Parental Controls PIN errors can be browser or session issues without indicating that the current PIN has become invalid.
How to fix Internal Service reset errors
Epic separately documents an Internal Service message. One workaround is opening a private browser window, signing into the child’s account and requesting a new PIN reset, then opening the guardian email in another tab of the same private session. Copy the reset URL into the signed-in browser if the email button fails. Follow only Epic’s official instructions and never post reset links publicly.

Fortnite Parental Controls PIN: what does changing the PIN affect?
Changing the code doesn’t automatically remove child restrictions. After signing in, the guardian can adjust permissions allowed for the child’s age, including voice and text communication, purchases and content ratings. Some account features still require completed parental consent. Fortnite Parental Controls PIN is an access control for those choices, not a tool for bypassing Cabined Account limitations.
When to contact Epic
If the guardian has lost access to the registered email, receives no reset message or cannot complete verification, use Epic’s official parent/guardian support form. Give the account details requested through the secure support process, not a public comment. Avoid sending identity documents or PINs to anybody claiming to be Epic through an unsolicited direct message.
