Fortnite Sprite abilities now cover 27 different characters in Chapter 7 Season 4, from Sonic’s faster sprinting and Tails’ hover to Klombo’s item rewards and the new Honey bee attack. Every Sprite has its own power, and the later Fortnitemares additions give you more choices than the original August launch lineup.

If you want to know which Sprite to carry, the complete table below explains what each one does and where its strengths lie. Some are much better for fighting, while others make looting, healing or crossing the island easier. The table covers the base powers; Gold, Cheat Master, Loot Hacker and other collectible finishes can add their own variant bonuses.

All Fortnite Sprite abilities in Chapter 7 Season 4

The Fortnite Sprite abilities table includes both launch characters and later additions, so you can compare their powers without hunting through separate update announcements.

This is the current Season 4 ability list, including the Sprites added between August 20 and October 15. Look up a Sprite by name if you’re deciding whether to keep it during a match or swap it for one you have just found.

One easy mistake is mixing up the Sonic Sprite with Sonic’s Power Sneakers. The Sprite increases sprint speed; the separate footwear provides the Spin Dash. You don’t get the full sneaker ability merely by carrying Sonic as a Sprite.

Which Fortnite Sprite abilities are worth using?

Fortnite Sprite abilities suit different parts of a match. You’ll get more out of Sonic or Tails when crossing open ground, while Morgana or Jonesy can make a rough fight easier to survive. Start with the problem you want the Sprite to solve.

For getting around the island, Sonic’s sprint speed, Tails’ hover and Jackrabbit’s extra jump are easy picks. If you regularly end up fighting around buildings or cliffs, Jackrabbit gives you another way to take height. Shadow is excellent when you’re swapping between several weapons and want them reloaded between bursts of gunfire.

For surviving long fights, try Jonesy for delayed health or shield recovery, Overshield for extra protection, or Morgana if you carry plenty of healing items. Vampire rewards dealing damage, whereas Blinky helps you escape attention after being hit. Those are different ways to stay alive, so choose one that suits the way you play.

Best Fortnite Sprite abilities for collecting loot

Adventure upgrades a random inventory item whenever it levels, while Klombo gives you random items as you level it by using healing and shield consumables. The 8-Bit Sprite is particularly handy after landing because your first chest provides its themed Shotgun. If you want new Sprites rather than weapons, One Wish Willow can collect Sprites carried by eliminated opponents.

Best Fortnite Sprite abilities for combat

Killswitch rewards aiming while airborne, X-Ray helps you spot nearby opponents and Honey adds a chance for bees to appear after a ranged hit. Crash Bandicoot’s spin is geared towards opponents close enough to knock away. None is automatically the strongest in every fight: a long-range player and someone who rushes close quarters will use them differently.

How to get Fortnite Sprite abilities during a match

Most Fortnite Sprite abilities become available as soon as you equip the character you’ve collected. Mastery progress improves particular effects, but you can start using the base power before reaching the maximum level.

Start with the free starter choice if you haven’t built up a collection yet: Bush, Adventure and Jonesy are available as starter Sprites. Other Sprites can come from Cheat Code chests and the current Battle Royale loot pool, and some have been obtainable through Lobby Hack rewards. The rarest ones are not tied to one guaranteed map marker.

Equip the Sprite you want to use during a match. As it earns XP, many of its powers improve, although a few have special rules. Klombo gains levels through healing or shield consumables, and Crown progresses through match wins. You also need to extract a newly found Sprite to keep it permanently in your collection.

Do variants change Fortnite Sprite abilities?

Gold and Cheat Master designs are separate collectibles, yet the underlying character keeps its familiar power. Fortnite Sprite abilities don’t switch between characters just because their outfits belong to the same variant family.

The base character power remains recognisable, but finishes such as Gold, Cheat Master, Loot Hacker and Bounty Hunter give their own additional benefits. Cheat Master, for example, can bypass the usual directional Cheat Code input. The variant doesn’t transform Sonic’s sprint ability into Tails’ hover; it remains a Sonic Sprite with its added variant effect.

Fortnite Sprite abilities: Questions players ask

You’ll find Fortnite Sprite abilities for movement, healing, weapons and exploration in the table above. If you’re working towards mastery, look at which ability improves when its Sprite gains XP before choosing what to level next.

Do you need to master a Sprite to use its ability?

No. Its base power works while you carry it, and levelling generally improves the effect. Some special rewards and variant bonuses have their own unlocking requirements.

Are Sprite powers permanent in your Locker?

Collecting and extracting a Sprite keeps the character in your collection. The combat effect applies while you have that Sprite equipped, not simply because you’ve unlocked its picture in the Locker.

Are the October Sprites included?

Yes. These Fortnite Sprite abilities include the October 1 Fortnitemares arrivals and the Honey and One Wish Willow additions from October 15.
