Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 map shows the original island during paradise, chrome and herald’s sanctum. Chrome began spreading across Chapter 3’s island in Season 4. The shimmering substance transformed the ground and structures around major locations, while buildings rose above the spreading material and new landmarks appeared. It was a threatening change after the colourful Reality Falls season.
The map below is from the season’s opening update, v22.00. Open it at full size, then compare it with the previous season to see which areas were added or changed. Later mid-season updates sometimes altered the same locations again, so the patch number matters.

Herald’s Sanctum became a distinctive central point of interest. Lustrous Lagoon and other Chrome-affected locations reflected the season’s story, while the returning areas around Reality Falls showed how the island continued changing rather than resetting completely.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 map: How to recognise the historical version
The Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 map is a reminder that a chapter can change dramatically without a total island reset. Herald’s Sanctum and the spread of Chrome were part of one continuing story, and raised buildings added to its strange appearance. This is the final original Chapter 3 season map before the Fracture event.

The historical image above represents the start of the season. If you are comparing a video from several weeks later, a notable POI may look different because it changed in an intervening update. That doesn’t make either snapshot wrong.
Season 3 introduced the Reality Tree and colourful mushroom biome. Season 4’s Chrome made parts of the island silver and unsettling, with landmarks raised or altered as the invasion continued. Looking at the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 map alongside the earlier image gives a clearer sense of how Fortnite’s geography evolved than relying on one picture from each chapter.
