Fisch 2nd Anniversary Event is live with a limited Bestiary, Anniversary Pools, a giant Birthday Cake near Moosewood and a progression chain that ends with the Birthday Candle Rod. Current live guides place the short anniversary window from October 3 through October 6, so the temporary catches and candle rewards are the priority.
The main loop in the Fisch 2nd Anniversary Event is straightforward once you know where to go. Catch anniversary species, bring unique catches to the Birthday Cake, throw them into the icing pool, collect Cupcake bait and XP, and keep filling unique entries until all 11 candles are lit. Duplicate species do not replace missing unique progress.
Fisch 2nd Anniversary Event: where to start

Start the Fisch 2nd Anniversary Event at the Birthday Cake connected to Moosewood. The cake is the event hub rather than just decoration, and the icing pool at its base is where eligible anniversary catches are turned in for progression.
Each unique species submitted counts toward the candle chain. If you catch a species you have not handed in before, take it to the cake before selling it. Repeating the same species can still have normal value, but it will not light another unique candle.
How the Birthday Cake progression works
The Birthday Cake is the progression system behind the Fisch 2nd Anniversary Event. Catch event fish, return to Moosewood and place eligible catches into the icing pool. Unique species advance the candle count while submissions can also award Cupcake bait and XP.
There are 11 candles to complete. Current live reward tables place the Birthday Candle Rod at candle 11, making the full unique-catch chain the main completion goal rather than simply catching one rare anniversary fish.
Birthday Cake milestone rewards
Several milestone rewards are already being reported consistently for the Fisch 2nd Anniversary Event. The current live path includes Fish Cake at candle 4, Anniversary Totem at candle 5, Birthday Cake furniture at candle 6, Cake Cruiser at candle 9, Birthday Cake Halo at candle 10 and the Birthday Candle Rod at candle 11.
| Candle | Reward |
|---|---|
| 4 | Fish Cake |
| 5 | Anniversary Totem |
| 6 | Birthday Cake Furniture |
| 9 | Cake Cruiser |
| 10 | Birthday Cake Halo |
| 11 | Birthday Candle Rod |
The Anniversary Totem is especially useful because current live guides say it can summon an Anniversary Pool. That gives you a second route to pool-dependent catches instead of waiting for every natural spawn.
Anniversary Pools and limited fish
Anniversary Pools are one of the main fishing sources in the Fisch 2nd Anniversary Event. Current live guides report pink pools spawning roughly once per hour around Castaway Cliffs, Forsaken Shores, Roslit Bay and Snowcap Island. A pool lasts for around 15 minutes, and a global chat message announces the island area.
Birthday Leviathan is associated with the pools, alongside other limited anniversary catches. Some anniversary species can also be caught outside a pool, so do not assume every missing Bestiary entry requires waiting for the next hourly spawn.
How to get Cupcake bait
Cupcake bait feeds directly back into the Fisch 2nd Anniversary Event. You can earn Cupcakes by turning anniversary catches into the Birthday Cake icing pool, then use that bait while chasing more limited event species.
Several currently documented anniversary fish prefer Cupcakes. The event loop therefore feeds itself: catch an event fish, submit a unique one, collect Cupcakes, then use those Cupcakes to improve the next anniversary fishing attempt.
How to get the Birthday Candle Rod
The Birthday Candle Rod is the final progression reward in the Fisch 2nd Anniversary Event. Light all 11 candles by submitting enough unique anniversary catches at the Birthday Cake, then claim the rod from the finished progression chain.
You do not buy the rod from a normal merchant and you do not get it merely for joining the event. The unique-catch candle requirement is what matters.
How long does the anniversary event last?
Current event listings and live guides place the Fisch 2nd Anniversary Event through October 6. An exact universal shutdown time is less consistently documented, so players should treat October 6 as the deadline instead of planning to finish in the final few minutes.
The limited Bestiary and temporary reward path are the things worth finishing first. Permanent progression can wait until the anniversary-only catches and rod are secured.
Best order for the Fisch 2nd Anniversary Event
The fastest practical approach to the Fisch 2nd Anniversary Event is to submit every new anniversary species as soon as you catch it, push to candle 5 for the Anniversary Totem, then use natural or summoned Anniversary Pools to fill harder gaps. Keep Cupcake bait for catches that benefit from it.
Once the unique-catch count reaches 11, finish the cake chain and claim the Birthday Candle Rod. That completes the core Fisch 2nd Anniversary Event progression while the separate Bestiary and Anniversary Pools guides handle individual catch friction.
