MSI 2022 day three has arrived. After today, each team from groups A and B have played each other once, and the teams from group C have played a total of four games due to them playing a quadruple round-robin.

Moving forward in the first round of this tournament, each day will be one group facing off against each other. Day four is for Group B to play their final games, day five is for Group C, and finally day six is for Group A.

Since the first stage of the tournament is halfway over, it’s time to look at the standings for each group, starting with group A, followed by group B, and finishing with group C.

Group A Standings

  1. T1 (3-0)
  2. Saigon Buffalo Esports (2-1)
  3. Detonation FocusMe (1-2)
  4. Team Aze (0-3)

Group B Standings

  1. Royal Never Give Up (3-0)
  2. fastPay Wildcats (1-2)
  3. PSG Talon (1-2)
  4. RED Canids (1-2)

Note for Group B: fastPay Wildcats, PSG Talon, and RED Canids are all tied in second place.

Group C Standings

  1. G2 Esports (4-0)

The next three days are very important for each team at MSI 2022. To move on to the next stage in the tournament, teams need to finish in the top two of their group. If they don’t finish in the top two, then they are sent home and have to wait for Worlds to play internationally again.

The biggest surprise between the three groups has to be how close the other teams behind Royal Never Give Up are. When the group was made, the expected second place was PSG Talon, the team that made it to the semifinals last year at MSI.

Instead, PSG Talon has looked significantly weaker this year, allowing the other two teams to catch up to them.

Group B takes center stage tomorrow with them playing their final round-robin. The first game is PSG Talon taking on RED Canids at 11 PM PST/ 2 AM EST/ 7 AM GMT. All the rewards for watching and updated standings as the day goes on can be found at lolesports.com.
