Enshrouded auto loot is a new version 1.0 setting that collects loose items in a wider radius without making you interact with each one. There are two ways to use it: enable continuous pickup in the Gameplay settings or hold the interaction button when you want to gather nearby items.
The setting doesn’t automatically empty treasure chests, loot dead enemies or collect special quest objects. That’s intentional. Once you know what it includes, it’s an excellent way to cut down on button presses while chopping trees, mining or gathering supplies for a building project.
Enshrouded auto loot: How to enable automatic item pickup

Open the game’s settings, enter the Gameplay options and find the control for continuously collecting loose items. Enable it, return to the world and walk near a scattered material on the ground. The item should be gathered once it’s within the supported radius and there’s room in your inventory.
You don’t need to craft an item or spend a skill point for Enshrouded auto loot. The new behaviour is a setting added in the 1.0 patch, available as part of the game’s interface rather than tied to a particular character build.
Enshrouded auto loot: How to use manual collect with the interaction button
If you don’t want continuous pickup, use the hold interaction instead. Holding the normal interaction button collects loose objects around your character within the revised range. You can release it when you’re done instead of leaving the automatic setting active for an entire expedition.
The hold-to-collect button uses your current interaction binding. Check the input shown on screen if you’ve changed your controls.
Which items Enshrouded auto loot collects
Loose scattered items are eligible for the new larger-radius pickup. Containers, defeated enemies and quest-related items are explicitly excluded by Keen Games. Walking close to a treasure chest won’t open it, and standing beside a defeated foe won’t automatically take its drops.
The Enshrouded auto loot option also doesn’t complete special quest interactions for you. Follow the quest prompt as normal; the setting is intended to speed up routine gathering, not bypass puzzles or scripted progression.
What the larger pickup radius means
Enshrouded auto loot has a wider pickup radius in 1.0. Approach a loose resource to see how far the automatic collection reaches. The continuous setting and the hold interaction use the same improved scattered-loot pickup behaviour.
Walls, containers and enemy bodies make poor tests, because their contents aren’t supposed to be collected automatically. For Enshrouded auto loot, use materials you can already see resting on the ground.

Why auto loot may not be working
First check the item category. If you’re trying to loot a chest, a defeated enemy or a quest object, the system is working as designed when it ignores them. Then check that the Gameplay setting is enabled or that you’re actually holding the interaction button for manual pickup.
A full inventory can also prevent collection. Empty a few slots, make sure your world is updated to 1.0 and try again beside an eligible loose item. Changing unrelated save files or resetting your character won’t help fix an excluded loot type.
Should you leave it enabled during exploration?
For mining, gathering and construction, continuous pickup can save a lot of repeated inputs. You’ll gather scattered items as you move through the work area rather than stopping to aim at each tiny drop. It doesn’t change rarity or increase the amount dropped by enemies, though.
If you prefer a more selective backpack, leave continuous collection off and use the hold option when you want it. Enshrouded auto loot works either way, and you can change the Gameplay preference whenever your priorities shift.
Quick checklist for automatic pickup
To use Enshrouded auto loot, enable continuous collection under Gameplay settings and keep inventory space available. If you’d rather control it manually, hold the interaction button nearby. Use the usual prompts for chests, enemy bodies and quest items.
Enshrouded auto loot is about convenience, not a new loot table. Once you’ve distinguished scattered ground items from containers, the feature is straightforward and useful on both new worlds and older saves.
