Enshrouded Airborne Architect is a new skill in the version 1.0 skill tree that lets you move freely through the air while building. It’s aimed at builders working on tall walls, roofs and complex structures where constantly placing ladders or scaffolding gets in the way.

The skill sits in the centre of the tree, rather than being hidden inside a single combat specialisation. It doesn’t replace ordinary travel or the glider, and it isn’t the same system as Sparkworks, which controls switches and other interactive building parts.

Enshrouded Airborne Architect: Where to find Airborne Architect in the skill tree

Enshrouded Airborne Architect

Open the skill tree after installing version 1.0 and look towards its centre. Keen Games specifically identifies the new Airborne Architect skill in that part of the tree. Select it to see its point cost and any prerequisite nodes before deciding how to spend your build points.

Returning players should know that the 1.0 patch resets and refunds existing skill points at first login. Enshrouded Airborne Architect won’t work until the new skill has actually been unlocked with the refunded or newly earned points.

How to unlock Enshrouded Airborne Architect flying build mode

Spend the skill points required by the node after satisfying its prerequisites. Return to your building area and use the construction movement controls to take advantage of free flight while positioning your building pieces. This is an unlockable skill, not an item you find in a treasure chest.

With Enshrouded Airborne Architect unlocked, enter the building interface and use the free-flight controls shown on screen. If you use a custom controller layout, check your current building bindings before starting a tall structure.

What you can build with the skill

Tall towers, rooflines, overhangs and intricate decorative sections are obvious uses. You can approach a structure from the side or above instead of laying temporary stairs for every awkward surface. It also helps when inspecting how a complex building looks from angles that are difficult to reach on foot.

Enshrouded Airborne Architect is especially appealing for players who maintain large bases or construct elaborate settlements for Adventure Sharing. It changes how conveniently you can position yourself while building, not the list of available materials.

What Airborne Architect cannot do

The ability isn’t a general free-flight mount. You still use normal movement systems such as the glider and grapple points while exploring Embervale or fighting in dungeons. Unlocking this one skill doesn’t remove dangerous terrain, unlock Cinder’s Cradle or give immunity to enemy attacks.

Nor does Enshrouded Airborne Architect create Sparkworks puzzles by itself. Sparkworks has its own craftable tools, connected props and two-dimensional graph editor. You can use both when constructing a complex base, but they’re separate systems.

Using Airborne Architect on an existing save

If you’re loading a character from before the 1.0 release, start by assigning your refunded skill points. Look for the central skill, then visit one of your existing building projects to test it before changing a large portion of the base.

The update also allows storage chests to be upgraded in place and converted to Magic Chests without emptying them. Combined with Enshrouded Airborne Architect, that’s handy when renovating an established workshop: you can move around the building more freely while leaving storage in position.

Why Enshrouded Airborne Architect may not activate

Verify that the world and client are updated to 1.0, that you have actually purchased the skill, and that you’re working in a valid building situation. If the skill is unavailable, check prerequisite points and whether you’ve reassigned your tree after the reset.

If Enshrouded Airborne Architect is unlocked but the controls seem wrong, inspect your current keybinds before deleting settings or restarting a character. Open the building control settings and check your assigned movement inputs. You can test the mode over an unfinished wall before returning to a larger project.

Is Airborne Architect worth your skill points?

If building is a major part of your game, it removes a lot of awkward positioning work. A combat-focused player might prefer other nodes first and respec later when beginning a large construction project. Its usefulness depends on how much time you spend placing and editing blocks.

Enshrouded Airborne Architect doesn’t improve weapon damage. Unlock it when you have a roof, tower or another large build to finish, and spend the points on combat skills first if you’re concentrating on story fights.

Quick unlock and build checklist

  1. Load Enshrouded 1.0 and reassign any skill points refunded by the update.
  2. Find Airborne Architect in the centre of the skill tree and unlock the node after meeting its prerequisites.
  3. Return to a buildable area and open the construction interface.
  4. Activate free-flying building, position yourself beside the roof or high wall and place the pieces you need.
  5. Leave build mode before heading out to explore or fight.
