Dune Awakening The Scourge is a limited-time Halloween event running from October 23 to November 9, 2026. You investigate a mysterious infection in Hagga Basin, collect samples from glowing enemies and earn Blood Marks to spend on plague-themed clothing, decorations, swatches and emotes. Find Frida Maltros at a Hagga Basin trade post or Shaffat’s Clinic in Arrakeen to begin.
Frida’s shop opens after two contracts: recover the medical supplies from the crashed ornithopter, then bring her five infected Kirab eyes. Below you’ll find the remaining objectives, Blood Mark payouts and shop prices, plus the October 28 fixes for missing event content.
How to start Dune Awakening The Scourge
- Talk to Frida Maltros at the medical tent beside a Hagga Basin trade post, or at Shaffat’s Clinic in Arrakeen.
- Accept Containment: Vital Equipment and travel to the crashed ornithopter in Eastern Vermillius Gap, west of The Stash, near The Anvil.
- Investigate the wreck, defeat the attackers, and retrieve the marked medical cargo.
- Deliver the cargo to Dr Nailea Shaffat at her clinic in Arrakeen and follow the contract’s remaining hand-in prompts. The quest rewards 100 Blood Marks and the Sun-Sick emote.
- Take Eyes of the Kirab from Frida. Hunt glowing infected Kirab and collect five eyes.
- Hand in the eyes for 300 Blood Marks and speak to Frida to access the event reward shop.
In Dune Awakening The Scourge, Frida is sometimes in a medical tent outside the normal trade post building, not behind the usual vendor counter. If you can’t find her, Shaffat’s Clinic in Arrakeen is another location. If the wreck itself is invisible, make sure you’ve installed 1.5.15.3 before trying the old sietch-switching workaround.
Dune Awakening The Scourge contracts and Blood Marks
Dune Awakening The Scourge unfolds in stages. The first eight contracts pay 1,600 Blood Marks; the later Patient Zero storyline adds another 400 across three quests. That’s 2,000 Blood Marks across the full documented chain, plus repeatable blood donations. The finale becomes available as the event progresses.

The Eyes contracts require infected eyeballs, while the Cortex stages need mutated brain tissue. Our infected enemy locations guide covers useful camps and wrecks for each target. Check your active contract before farming: an eye won’t complete a Cortex objective.
Reported mutated-enemy locations include the Wreck of the Pallas for Kirab, the Wreck of the Tisiphone and Wreck of the Kytheria for Outlaws, and the Wreck of the Alecto for Sandflies. These are documented places to search rather than promises that each enemy will spawn on every visit.
How to earn Blood Marks in Dune Awakening The Scourge
You can also earn marks at the blood collector beside Frida’s medical station or at Shaffat’s Clinic in Arrakeen. Every 1,000 blood earns one Blood Mark; depositing 30,000 earns 30. Our Blood Marks farming guide explains the repeatable route.
You can collect blood from ordinary enemies; it doesn’t have to be infected blood for the exchange. That’s different from contracts, which need the correct infected eyes or mutated tissue. Bring a blood extractor and an equipped bag when farming. For Dune Awakening The Scourge, donating normal blood is a way to save up for additional shop items after the contracts.
The event’s clothing and decoration rewards are character-bound, so earning them on one character doesn’t unlock them automatically on your others. Pick which character should collect the limited-time items before committing your Blood Marks.

Frida sells cosmetics and decorations for the following Blood Mark prices. The listed items are available in the documented shop selection during the October event; new phases can change what’s offered. Check Frida’s current inventory before making a purchase.

Buying one of every listed item costs 2,500 Blood Marks including the 100-mark Vial of Pestilent Mien. Without that consumable vial, the cost is 2,400. The Contagion Visor and Derelict Recovery Suit are the most expensive individual clothing items at 400 and 500 marks.
The Sun-Sick emote comes from the opening contract, while Infection Takes Hold is rewarded during Harkonnen Help. For building cosmetics, the Jury-Rigged Light Stand costs 100 marks, while the Vacuum-sealed Body Display and Decussate Cross cost 250 each. Pick the items you actually want.
Dune Awakening The Scourge not appearing or crashing
Hotfix 1.5.15.3 on October 28 fixed a crash during the event and extended a fix for Halloween content not loading on certain sietches to all servers. Official servers received the first fix on October 26. Download the latest client update and restart Steam if the download hasn’t appeared.
If Frida’s tent, an infected enemy or the crashed ornithopter is still missing, our Scourge not appearing troubleshooting guide covers those specific symptoms. First, recheck the active contract and location after updating. Moving to a different sietch was a reported temporary multiplayer workaround before the fix, but it wasn’t guaranteed, and it doesn’t apply to single-player. The October 28 patch also fixes access to the Paranoid after defeating four Chosen. That’s a separate main-story encounter, not a Scourge quest. You don’t need to defeat those four Chosen to start Frida’s contracts or open her shop.
When does Dune Awakening The Scourge end?
Funcom’s updated announcement lists November 9, 2026 as the event’s end date. Some older copies of the announcement still say November 2. The newer official page does not give an exact finishing hour, so complete your contracts and spend your Blood Marks before the last day rather than assuming a particular UK reset time.
To finish Dune Awakening The Scourge, complete Frida’s contracts, including the later Patient Zero finale, and donate blood if you’re short of marks for your chosen rewards. The event ends on November 9. Our Update 1.5 guide covers the wider changes to Arrakis.
