Disney Dreamlight Valley Let the Games Begin Bug: Missing Quest and Wheel Fixes

A Dreamlight Valley Let the Games Begin bug can leave the fifth Oogie Boogie quest missing from your Journal, hide the Genuinely Lucky Wheel recipe or cause the wheel handover to repeat. All three problems have been reported since the October 21, 2026 unlock, but the right next step depends on where your progress stopped.

Check your earlier quests and the new mailbox cog first. If the Journal and crafting recipe are both missing, restarting has not always helped; if Oogie keeps asking for the finished wheel, one player got past the loop by fully closing and reopening the game. The checks below keep those two problems separate.

Check the prerequisites before troubleshooting

Before blaming a Dreamlight Valley Let the Games Begin bug, complete A Halloween Invasion, The Oogie Boogie Contract, The Ghost in the Portrait and Rescue Mission. The Week 5 quest only becomes available after Week 4. You should also have Zero from the earlier event missions. Read Oogie’s new letter in a Valley mailbox and collect the attached Lucky Wheel Cog.

To access Season of Scares in the first place, you need Peaceful Meadow, Scrooge’s Store and Chez Remy unlocked. The event starter guide explains where to find the Strange Mirror and begin the chain.

Dreamlight Valley Let the Games Begin bug: mail received but no quest

Some players received the Week 5 cog from the mailbox but found no quest in their Journal. Look under both active and available quests and make sure you actually claimed the attachment, not just read the message. If Rescue Mission is already marked complete, save the game, quit entirely and reload once.

There isn’t a confirmed universal workaround for this Dreamlight Valley Let the Games Begin bug. Players have reported missing Journal entries even after restarting. If yours is still absent, take screenshots showing the completed earlier quest, the mail attachment and the missing entry. Those details will be useful when reporting it to Gameloft.

Dreamlight Valley Let the Games Begin bug: six cogs but no recipe

The Genuinely Lucky Wheel costs six Lucky Wheel Cogs and no additional crafting material. Five came from smashing Oogie’s rigged wheel during The Ghost in the Portrait. The sixth comes from the Week 5 mail. The old cogs stay in your inventory after the earlier quest; check storage chests if you moved them out of your bag.

With all six collected, open a crafting station and look for the quest recipe. Moving stored cogs into your bag lets you count them, but affected players say it has not always restored a missing recipe. If the Dreamlight Valley Let the Games Begin bug still blocks the crafting category after a restart, keep the cogs rather than throwing them out or crafting unrelated items.

Oogie Boogie won’t accept the finished Lucky Wheel

After crafting the Genuinely Lucky Wheel, keep it in your character inventory. Go through the Strange Mirror in Scrooge’s Store and speak to Oogie Boogie upstairs next to the original wheel. The handover should unlock the Lucky Wheel, Hidden Smiles, Lava Pond and Whack-a-Pumpkin games.

A reported Dreamlight Valley Let the Games Begin bug makes the same handover dialogue play repeatedly, with none of those games opening. Save, close the game completely, reload and try the conversation once more. That worked for one player on October 21, but was not a confirmed official fix. Don’t craft another wheel unless the active quest specifically requires it.

Dreamlight Valley Let the Games Begin bug: a tile isn’t collectible

Completing each minigame objective isn’t enough if its reward is still on the ground. The fifth Lucky Wheel spin gives a chest beside the wheel. Five Hidden Smiles reveal a tile in the small fenced area beside the large dice, at the top of the left stairs. The Lava Pond tile goes straight into your bag when caught. Ten smashed pumpkins produce a tile near the starting lever.

If the Dreamlight Valley Let the Games Begin bug seems to have left you on three of four tiles, check those four reward spots first. A player reported that a tile became uncollectable after they tried to pick it up with a full bag. Empty some inventory slots before collecting floor rewards. No reliable recovery has yet been demonstrated for a tile already stuck after that failed pickup. The four Oogie Boogie Tiles guide covers each pickup and the shovel puzzle.

Was the October 8 Lucky Wheel hotfix for this problem?

No. Gameloft’s October 8 patch corrected an earlier prize objective in A Halloween Invasion, before Week 5 was available. That patch does not show that a Dreamlight Valley Let the Games Begin bug affecting the Journal, recipe or handover on October 21 has been fixed.

For a persistent issue, check Gameloft’s Known Issues page and include your platform, version, screenshots and the last working quest stage in a report. Avoid deleting items that could be needed when progression resumes.

Can you finish Oogie’s quests after November 4?

Yes, provided you started A Halloween Invasion before November 4. Gameloft explicitly allows the remaining quests to be finished afterward. The final mission, Oogie Boogie’s Big Game, unlocks October 28 and rewards the permanent character. A Dreamlight Valley Let the Games Begin bug does not change that deadline rule.

After the issue clears, follow the complete Week 5 quest walkthrough for the four games and Jack Skellington tile puzzle, or the Oogie Boogie unlock guide for the full event.
