Diablo 4 Tyraels Boons is a new seasonal War Plans progression tree in Blizzard’s 3.3.0 Public Test Realm. It lets players influence rewards and activities through four themed paths instead of relying on one generic bonus track. The important distinction is that this is scheduled test content for Season 16, not a feature that has already arrived on every live server. Any balance figures can change between the October test and the eventual release. Players can prepare by understanding what each path changes before deciding where to invest points.

Blizzard says all Seasonal players can access Tyrael’s Boons, including those without the Lord of Hatred expansion. That statement applies to this season-themed tree specifically. It does not retrospectively remove expansion conditions for every older system associated with War Plans. If you have not dealt with the existing command table, our War Plans unlock and activity points guides explain the surrounding mechanics. Those explanations are background for the new choices, not an alternative way to bypass any confirmed access requirement.

The four paths and their actual benefits

In Diablo 4 Tyraels Boons, Curious Addition changes the Purveyor of Curiosities. Depending on selected options it can improve the chance of receiving an additional item, add item varieties, or favour higher-quality results. Blizzard also describes an expensive option that improves the likelihood of Ancestral items. That makes this the path to investigate if you frequently spend Obols, but the announcement does not disclose enough probabilities to prove that one choice delivers the best value. A sensible PTR test would compare purchases under consistent conditions rather than declare a winning route immediately.

Another Diablo 4 Tyraels Boons path, Merchant of Mystery, introduces a Torment difficulty merchant selling caches for Forgotten Souls. Further choices can improve Ancestral cache opportunities or change purchasing options to Runes and Gems. The interesting question is whether the material cost matches what players actually need, and that cannot be answered from the names of the rewards alone. Scent of Gold, meanwhile, targets experience and gold, with branches influencing Horadric Cube materials, Gem Fragments, enemy drops and Legendary chances. Its practical value will vary depending on which resource is currently limiting progression.

Trash for Treasure makes Diablo 4 Tyraels Boons especially relevant to crafting and salvage. Blizzard says it can reduce Alchemist transmuting costs, increase access to Obducite or Scrolls of Restoration, and improve certain monster salvage drops. One later perk may award a Scroll of Restoration when salvaging an Ancestral item. That makes the path particularly relevant to players who spend time refining equipment rather than purchasing curiosities. However, a described chance does not tell us the actual drop rate, so a preview article should not offer confident farming estimates until testing supplies dependable evidence.

How points and respeccing work

Diablo 4 Tyraels Boons includes up to 132 earnable points according to Blizzard. Its notes describe choosing up to four of six selections within four paths, but do not spell out every allocation rule clearly enough to justify a precise optimal-point diagram. The right explanation is to describe the confirmed maximum and named paths while keeping uncertain branching details open for PTR verification. Unlike ordinary War Plans Tactics changes, these seasonal Boon allocations cost gold to undo: Blizzard lists five million gold per point unassigned.

That Diablo 4 Tyraels Boons respec cost is worth remembering before copying an untested recommendation. A point moved purely to try a different reward could be expensive in a normal economy, even if testing boosts make experimentation easier. If you want to compare two branches, record what each changes and work out whether the benefit matches your normal activity. Our separate War Plans Tactics guide addresses the other tree and its Marks of Wisdom currency; the two respec systems should not be combined into one misleading explanation simply because both appear in the same PTR notes.

Greater Temper and Season Blessings

One particularly useful Diablo 4 Tyraels Boons reward is access to a new Horadric Cube recipe called Greater Temper. Blizzard gives an exact cost of 30 Scrolls of Restoration and 1,000 Obducite to upgrade a Tempered affix on an item into a Greater Affix. That figure belongs to the Season 16 test description, not a verified permanent launch cost. The recipe’s value will depend on the actual availability of both materials, the equipment being modified and how its upgrade interacts with other gear systems once players test it in practice.

Blizzard also specifies that Diablo 4 Tyraels Boons does not replace Seasonal Blessings. The latter will become a static system offering the same five Blessings each season, while the new tree adds separate choices. Keeping those concepts apart will help returning players understand why two sets of seasonal perks can coexist. Horadric Items are another separate mechanic: their special affixes influence Talisman sets rather than functioning as currency spent in the Boons tree. The related Horadric Items guide handles those equipment interactions without confusing them with Greater Temper.

What players should test next

Diablo 4 Tyraels Boons is sufficiently documented to describe its four paths, broad effects, point limit, respec charge and recipe requirements now. What remains unproven for Diablo 4 Tyraels Boons is the most efficient path for different builds, the final balance of reward chances and the best material strategy after launch. During the PTR, compare the bonuses across repeated activities and keep track of which results come from normal progression rather than test-vendor boosts. Blizzard’s official PTR announcement contains the current details and should be checked again after balancing changes.

For players approaching Season 16, the useful decision is not which path wins an imaginary universal ranking. It is which activity or resource currently matters most to your character and whether the corresponding Boon reliably supports it. The system promises more control over how War Plans reward time spent in Sanctuary, but the exact strength of each choice belongs to testing. Treat every recommendation made before that evidence appears as provisional and revisit the confirmed rules when Blizzard publishes its final seasonal notes. Further detail is available in the Blizzard official PTR notes.
