Diablo 4 Fishing Locations are easier to work through when you know which waypoint to use. Fishing became available with Lord of Hatred, and although you can cast from suitable water all over Sanctuary, the most comfortable places are usually town docks where enemies won’t interrupt you every few seconds.
Every region has its own collection of rare fish and variants, and some Mythic fish require much stranger surroundings than a normal pond. If you’re looking for a missing Morayaga, Crookfish or Kokalodon, or wondering where on earth to catch Vivid Whimsy, the routes below will get you somewhere useful.
Diablo 4 Fishing Locations: seven places you can actually travel to

The following Diablo 4 Fishing Locations are waypoint-based spots rather than vague recommendations to search an entire region. They are popular with players because they’re simple to find and, in several cases, allow fishing inside a protected town.
| Region | Where to cast | Regional fish |
|---|---|---|
| Scosglen | Marowen: go to the western pier. | Drakonbeard |
| Fractured Peaks | Yelesna: walk east of the waypoint to the river beside the fishing NPC. Cast close to the bridge. | Morayaga |
| Dry Steppes | Ked Bardu: head towards the nearby western shoreline, outside the town’s safe area. | Augur of Civo |
| Kehjistan | Iron Wolves Encampment: use the south-western boardwalk. The waterfront at Gea Kul is another option. | Zakarati |
| Hawezar | Backwater: use the eastern pier. | Crookfish |
| Nahantu | Kurast Docks: fish from the western pier. | Neme-Senga |
| Skovos | Fool’s Quarry: use the southern pier. Shi Yugong’s Haven in Philios is another fishing spot. | Kokalodon |
Among these Diablo 4 Fishing Locations, Marowen, Backwater and Kurast Docks are particularly good for long sessions. In a protected town you avoid ordinary monster interruptions, and you’re less likely to reel in a Tidewalker instead of another fish. Fishing outside Ked Bardu is less peaceful, but it still gives Dry Steppes collectors an easy landmark.
The important thing about regular Diablo 4 Fishing Locations is that moving between pools inside the same region doesn’t unlock a different regional species. If you need a Giant Spectral Morayaga, stay in Fractured Peaks. You can try another section of river for convenience, but you don’t need to hunt down a special Morayaga-only pond.
Diablo 4 Fishing Locations: unlocking the Cast Fishing Line action
Before travelling around Sanctuary, reach Skovos and follow the priority quest named Fishing. It takes you to Shi Yugong at Shi Yugong’s Haven in Philios, north of Temis. Complete the introduction and you’ll have Cast Fishing Line available from your emote wheel. You don’t need to find or purchase a fishing rod.
At a valid shoreline, cast and wait for the visual and audio cue to reel in. Timing the catch correctly can give you two fish or items rather than one. If a stretch of water refuses your cast, move along the bank or try a pier; not every edge of every river is usable.
Once you’ve unlocked fishing, Diablo 4 Fishing Locations elsewhere in Sanctuary become available. Skovos is the starting point, not the only region that counts towards the main collection.
Diablo 4 Fishing Locations for every Mythic fish
The five Mythic catches use different rules from normal regional species. Rather than cycling through town docks, visit the terrain or event associated with the fish you’re missing.
| Mythic fish | Location or condition |
|---|---|
| Molten Martyr | Cast into lava. Players have caught it around volcanic areas in Skovos and lava pools in the eastern Dry Steppes. |
| Ghoulworm | Fish the blood-coloured pools north-east of Tirmair in Scosglen. |
| Fang of Tathamet | Fish suitable water in a region while a Helltide is active. |
| Dune Thresher Hatchling | Try the sandy dunes north of Tarsarak in the Dry Steppes, using the fishing action on the sand. |
| Vivid Whimsy | Cast into the rainbow pool beside the horse skeleton on Scylara, the hidden island associated with the Secret Cow Level. |
Vivid Whimsy deserves more explanation because its collection description doesn’t give away the location. Complete the secret cow quest chain to obtain the Torn Page, then take the Outcast’s Boat from the eastern Philios shore to Scylara. Players who already have access to the Secret Cow Level can reach the island using Leave Dungeon from that level. Near the dock, look for a horse skeleton sitting in rainbow-coloured liquid. That’s the fishing spot.

Those special Diablo 4 Fishing Locations are tied to the No Fish is Safe achievement. If you’re still collecting ordinary fish for Tenacious Angler, you can leave the lava, blood and hidden island until later.
Diablo 4 Fishing Locations: which species belongs to each collection?
Every normal region has a base Rare fish, six Legendary variants and nine Unique variants. That’s 16 per region, or 112 across the seven regions in the table. The remaining five fish that can appear throughout Sanctuary are Saltfin, Bluescale, Glimmer, Silverbelly and Darkling. Together these form the 117 regular fish for Tenacious Angler.
The Red Herring added with Season 15 is associated with Khanduras and sits outside that original 117-fish collection. If your achievement isn’t moving, check whether you’re chasing a regional fish, one of the five common catches or a Mythic rather than assuming another shoreline is bugged.
How to finish the regional collections faster
With the seven Diablo 4 Fishing Locations above, you can settle in at a convenient pier, keep an eye on the names you still need and change regions only when you’re done with that family. A perfectly timed reel helps with repeated catches, and the protected towns cut down on fights that waste time.
Blizzard also allows fish trading. If you’re missing one final Unique while sitting on several duplicates, swapping with another player may be quicker than another hour of casts. Make sure to compare the full variant name, including Tiny, Giant, Glittering, Celestial, Demonic and Spectral traits.
Use the Diablo 4 Fishing Locations table as your starting route, then handle the five Mythic conditions separately. You now have named docks, towns and hidden spots to travel towards, instead of spending the evening walking along every riverbank in Sanctuary.
