David’s yellow jacket is one of the most recognisable pieces from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and you can collect it without buying Phantom Liberty or reaching a particular ending. The trick is finding the right building, playing the recording and giving Falco time to respond.

Travel to Megabuilding H4 in Arroyo, Santo Domingo. Look outside the building for a small alley and a green Edgerunners logo spray-painted on a wall. A trash can nearby contains a braindance headset. Interact with it to watch a short clip from the anime. That interaction starts Over the Edge.

If you have already watched the series, you may recognise the footage immediately. You still need to interact with the headset in the game to trigger the side job. Merely travelling to Megabuilding H4 or finding the graffiti doesn’t automatically put the jacket in your inventory.

1. Visit Megabuilding H4 in Arroyo and pick up the braindance from the trash can beside the Edgerunners graffiti.
2. Watch the recording and read the quest entry for Over the Edge.
3. Open your phone and contact Muamar “El Capitán” Reyes about David Martinez.
4. Wait for a response from Falco, David’s former crewmate. You may need to pass in-game time or complete other activities.
5. Read Falco’s message directing you to the reward.
6. Travel to Dam Viewpoint in the Badlands, find El Capitán at the overlook and open the case on the ledge behind him.
7. Take David’s Jacket to complete the quest.

Once Falco replies, track Over the Edge in your Journal instead of trying to find a random clothing merchant. The reward marker takes you to Dam Viewpoint in the Badlands, not back to Megabuilding H4. The jacket is a unique story collectible; it isn’t something you buy from Jinguji or the new Update 2.5 clothing vendors.

Falco doesn’t necessarily reply the moment you contact El Capitán. Continue playing, use the Skip Time option and check your phone again. Some players find the message arrives after roughly a day of in-game time, but the exact delay can vary. The final pickup isn’t at H4. Once Falco replies, use the Dam Viewpoint fast travel point, find El Capitán at the overlook and open the case on the ledge behind him. You don’t need to speak to him.

If the jacket is still missing, verify that Over the Edge appears in your Journal, that you contacted El Capitán, and that Falco’s message is in your phone. Following the active objective is more reliable than searching for a container before the next stage has triggered.

Do you need to watch Edgerunners first?

Yes. The anime gives the jacket its backstory, but you don’t need to watch it, finish Phantom Liberty or reach a certain ending to collect the clothing item. Over the Edge is available in the base game on versions that include the Edgerunners content, and it can be completed on an existing character.

David’s jacket is a wearable cosmetic collectible, not a perk that grants David’s Sandevistan or an upgrade to your cyberware. If you’re looking to recreate David’s combat style, the jacket covers the appearance, while an operating-system implant and compatible weapons determine how your build plays.

The Cyberpunk 2077 David Martinez jacket is primarily a cosmetic keepsake under the modern clothing and wardrobe system. Cyberpunk 2077 separates most outfit styling from armour gained through cyberware. You can use the wardrobe system to build an Edgerunners-inspired look without expecting the jacket to provide an exceptional defensive bonus.

Update 2.5 also adds separate Glamdoc cyberware cosmetics and new clothing collections. Those are unrelated to the Over the Edge reward, but useful if you’re creating a full character outfit.

After his reply, head to the Badlands Dam behind El Capitán for the reward. If Over the Edge is marked complete, check your clothing inventory and wardrobe rather than searching the city again.
