The headline rewards are 1,600 Primogems, 10 Intertwined Fates, one standard five-star character and one limited five-star character from a fixed six-character pool. They are not all delivered in one button press, so it is worth knowing where each part appears.
How to claim Genshin Impact anniversary rewards
Start with the in-game mailbox once the anniversary gifts begin. The 1,600 Primogems are delivered through commemorative mail rather than the Wish screen. Claim each mail item while it is active and do not leave anniversary messages sitting unopened, because mail rewards can expire after their stated claim period.
The 10 Intertwined Fates come from the anniversary login track. This is a cumulative login reward, so open the event page on the required days and claim each unlocked step. The Fates are direct limited-banner wishes, which means you do not need to convert Primogems before using them.
Claim the standard five-star selector
The standard five-star invitation is handled through the anniversary event interface. Open the Events menu, find the anniversary reward card and choose one character from Diluc, Jean, Mona, Keqing, Qiqi, Tighnari, Dehya or Yumemizuki Mizuki.
Check the character carefully before confirming. A selector is not the same as a banner pull, and there is no reason to rush through the confirmation screen. A missing character is normally more valuable than a small constellation unless you already have a deep roster.
Claim the limited five-star selector
The limited selector is the unusual reward this year. HoYoverse says players who complete the latest Archon Quest can choose one event-exclusive five-star during Version 7.1. The pool contains Tartaglia, Baizhu, Chiori, Nilou, Clorinde and Varesa.
If the limited selector is not available when the rest of the anniversary menu is visible, check your Archon Quest progress first. Version 7.1 continues the Snezhnaya story and the free limited character is explicitly tied to completing the latest story requirement.
Where the 1,600 Primogems and 10 Fates go
The 1,600 Primogems are equivalent to 10 wishes if you convert them at 160 Primogems per Intertwined Fate. Combined with the separate 10-Fate login track, the anniversary gives 20 limited-banner wishes before counting events, quests, commissions or exploration.
You do not need to spend those wishes immediately. Claiming the anniversary currency simply adds it to your account. If you are deciding between Vesna, Vodyanitsa or the Phase 2 reruns, you can hold the Primogems and Fates until you know which banner you want.
Do anniversary rewards affect pity?
No. The two free character selectors are not Wishes, so they do not change pity, consume a guarantee or reset anything on Character Event Wish. The same is true of receiving Primogems and Fates. Pity only moves when you actually make Wishes on the relevant banner type.
That means you can safely claim everything first and make your banner decision afterwards. The anniversary selectors and the normal Wish system are separate.
Check the deadlines before logging out
The important final step is checking every anniversary card for its expiry date. Mail, login events and character invitations can use different windows. Claim the mailbox rewards, finish the login track, make both character selections and confirm the rewards are visible in your inventory or roster.
