Cities Skylines II Park Adventures is the upcoming expansion that lets you draw a park district and fill it with amusement rides, animal enclosures, nature areas and city park buildings. Unlike a single fixed park building, the district is an area you design around your own streets and landscape.
Iceflake Studios explained its plans in an October 15 developer diary. The paid expansion is scheduled for Q4 2026 on PC, but has no confirmed release day. For now, the details below describe what is coming, not buttons already available in the game.
How Cities Skylines II Park Adventures districts work

The first step in Cities Skylines II Park Adventures is to draw a park district. Its area appears green on your city map, giving you a boundary to build within. You don’t need to start with a compulsory main gate or entrance building.
You can mix attractions from different park types inside the same district. Paths and roads are part of the design, and public transport can pass through the park rather than stopping at its entrance. That leaves plenty of room for an animal exhibit beside rides or a quiet stretch of gardens.
The district provides the structure for running a park, while the buildings you choose determine how it develops. Cities Skylines II Park Adventures is designed around the park you want to make, not a fixed layout chosen in advance.
All four types in Cities Skylines II Park Adventures
There are four categories, each with its own building progression. You can develop one type or combine several in a single park district.
| Park type | Examples of announced content |
|---|---|
| Amusement Park | Roller coasters, carousels and other rides |
| Zoo | Animal exhibits and enclosures |
| Nature Reserve | Hiking trails, lodges and observation platforms |
| City Park | Urban gardens, conservatories and leisure amenities |
The developer shows spinning tea cups and a hippo enclosure as examples of Amusement Parks and Zoos. A memorial sculpture and a guest lounge cabin illustrate City Parks and Nature Reserves. These are useful examples of the different styles, not the full attraction list.
The publisher confirms more than 100 assets and five new maps for Cities Skylines II Park Adventures. Exact building prices and the full list of unlocks haven’t been released, so there is no verified upgrade table to follow yet.
How park progression and visits work
When people visit, their activity contributes experience to the relevant park categories. More experience unlocks additional buildings for those types, allowing your park to grow beyond its original attractions.
A small city park could gradually expand into a mixed district with rides and exhibits. You don’t have to lock in one category at the start. That flexibility is a core part of the progression system.
Iceflake hasn’t supplied specific experience thresholds or the final upgrade menu. Until launch, the useful takeaway is to plan room for new buildings instead of assuming your first park layout will be permanent.
Cities Skylines II Park Adventures fees and ratings
Cities Skylines II Park Adventures also has a management side: entry fees, staff budgets, maintenance and park policies. Paradox’s expansion description promises an economy where you can monitor how much money your parks make and spend.
Restrooms, food and information points matter to the visitor experience. The developer says the condition and quality of a destination, as well as its capacity, can affect which park someone chooses. A nearby park won’t always win if it is crowded or in poor condition.
People inside a park can change their plans too. A long queue might send someone to another attraction; a visitor might stop at an interactive bench or watch an animal exhibit. Guest ratings and feedback should make it easier to spot problems such as long walks or insufficient facilities, although Iceflake was still refining the presentation in October.
Can park buildings go outside a district?
Yes. Cities Skylines II Park Adventures allows individual park buildings and props outside managed districts. Iceflake gives the example of a merry-go-round beside an office building, and says citizens can use standalone benches as they pass through the city.
The team also described putting a tourist information booth near a bus station and using buses to take visitors to a park. You can use assets wherever they suit the city, while the park district handles the actual management and progression.
When is Cities Skylines II Park Adventures coming out?
Paradox lists Cities Skylines II Park Adventures for Q4 2026. Expansion Pass 2 is already on sale, but the park content itself is still upcoming. The October diary doesn’t give a precise release day.
The related free update includes changes to how everyone’s citizens choose leisure destinations. It also gives all players four new Editor biomes. The new Park Adventures maps themselves are part of the paid expansion.
The Cities Skylines II Park Adventures preview provides the rules worth planning around: draw a flexible district, mix park types and consider access, staffing and amenities. Exact launch controls and unlock thresholds need the final release information.
