Star Resonance Nightveil Woods is the Mischief Night tower-defence challenge in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance. Ice and Fire opened on October 22, and Light and Dark opened October 26. Endless follows on November 2. Unlike regular combat dungeons, you buy and place Tuning Imagines on marked tiles to stop enemies reaching the Engram Line.
Use Burning against Ice enemies, Extreme Cold against Fire enemies and Hundred Demons against Light resistance. Dark has changing enemy types, so a balanced setup works better than sticking to one element. The event also has specific ten-, twenty- and thirty-wave objectives, with sticker boxes and the Prankster Pumpkin King badge among the rewards.
Star Resonance Nightveil Woods stage unlock dates
All five Star Resonance Nightveil Woods stages belong to Mischief Nightmare: Engram Line Tuning and the Halloween event running until November 19 at 7 AM GMT. Ice, Fire, Light and Dark are playable now; only Endless remains locked. The stages aren’t Season 4 Chaotic Realm rooms and don’t use the same combat objectives.
| Nightveil stage | Unlock date | Status on October 27 |
|---|---|---|
| Ice | October 22 | Open |
| Fire | October 22 | Open |
| Light | October 26 | Open |
| Dark | October 26 | Open |
| Endless | November 2 | Opens November 2 |

How to play Star Resonance Nightveil Woods tower defence
Enter Mischief Nightmare: Engram Line Tuning from the Halloween event challenges. Once inside, use the tab on the right side of the screen to purchase Tuning Imagines. Approach one of the marked squares in the arena to place the Imagine. Then defend the Engram Line through the incoming monster waves.
The Star Resonance Nightveil Woods objectives reward protecting the line while preventing enemies from getting through. The current Ice and Fire mission sets include clearing waves ten, twenty and thirty during a single battle. Optional challenge waves are counted separately, so finishing one of those doesn’t replace the required normal-wave progress.
Best units for Nightveil Woods Ice
Current October 22 gameplay coverage identifies ice-resistant monsters in Nightveil Woods (Ice). Use Burning-type Tuning Imagines instead of relying only on ice effects. Put your units on the available tiles before the wave pressure builds, then protect the Engram Line as the later enemies arrive.
In Star Resonance Nightveil Woods Ice, the mission panel gives one Mystery Number Sticker Box for reaching ten waves, two for twenty and three for thirty in one battle. Additional objectives award boxes for clearing the first thirty with no more than ten, or no more than five, monsters reaching the line. You can also earn boxes by collecting every Burning-type, Hundred Demons-type or Resource-type Tuning medium, or reaching 30,000 Tuning Shards in one battle.
Best units for Nightveil Woods Fire
Fire is the reverse elemental problem. Many enemies resist fire, so Extreme Cold-type Tuning Imagines are the recommended counter. You still purchase and place units using the same arena menu, but the resistance difference is why simply copying your Ice setup can leave you short of the objective.
The Fire version of Star Resonance Nightveil Woods has equivalent ten-, twenty- and thirty-wave sticker-box milestones, limits of ten or five enemies reaching the line, and collection objectives involving Extreme Cold, Hundred Demons and Resource Tuning media. Its shard-collection target is also 30,000 within a battle. Check which stage you’re in before trying to complete an element-specific collection task.
Star Resonance Nightveil Woods Light: strategy and units
Light has plenty of light-resistant enemies. Bring Hundred Demons-type Tuning Imagines instead of relying on Light damage, and position them to cover the path. Try King Gilmy or Venomine’s Nest early, with Ghost Crab Spider to slow enemies near a narrow approach. Place damage dealers where they can attack the same target for longer before it reaches the Engram Line.
Current clears of Star Resonance Nightveil Woods favour getting Lorola onto the field by about wave ten, then building towards two copies if the shop offers them. Upgrade your strongest attacker while using cheaper control units to buy time. This is a proven composition idea, not a fixed required roster.
Star Resonance Nightveil Woods Dark: dealing with random enemies
Dark draws from a mixed, randomised enemy pool. Keep crowd control and more than one damage type available rather than forcing one elemental counter through every wave. When the next waves expose a weakness, adjust your Tuning Imagine purchases rather than repeating the same losing setup.
King Gilmy, Venomine’s Nest and Ghost Crab Spider remain good opening options; Lorola offers stronger damage for later waves. Refresh the shop carefully and upgrade the Imagines doing most of the work. In Star Resonance Nightveil Woods Dark, protecting the path is more reliable than buying expensive units that cannot reach the enemies.
Star Resonance Nightveil Woods enemy resistance table
| Stage | Enemy behaviour | Suggested counter | Opened |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ice | Many resist Ice | Burning Imagines | October 22 |
| Fire | Many resist Fire | Extreme Cold Imagines | October 22 |
| Light | Many resist Light | Hundred Demons Imagines | October 26 |
| Dark | Mixed random enemy types | Flexible damage plus crowd control | October 26 |
| Endless | Survival waves | Prepare balanced units; unlocks November 2 | November 2 |
The resistance descriptions apply to the enemy mix, not every monster individually. Check each stage’s own mission panel for wave, breach and Tuning media objectives. Endless rewards boxes according to the waves you clear and the 50-wave leaderboard has no ranking prizes.
Star Resonance Nightveil Woods mission rewards
The original Ice and Fire missions have the wave milestones below. Light and Dark now have their own stage panels; check their listed tasks rather than assuming every objective and payout is identical. These are task rewards, not amounts automatically granted every time you replay a stage.
| Objective in one battle | Reward |
|---|---|
| Stop enemies through wave 10 | 1 Mystery Number Sticker Box |
| Stop enemies through wave 20 | 2 boxes |
| Stop enemies through wave 30 | 3 boxes |
| First 30 waves with 10 or fewer enemies entering the line | 2 boxes |
| First 30 waves with 5 or fewer entering the line | 3 boxes |
| Collect all stage-specific Tuning media | 2 boxes per named media-category task |
| Earn 30,000 Tuning Shards | 3 boxes |
The developer’s reward list for Star Resonance Nightveil Woods also includes a Prankster Pumpkin King title, Invincible Pumpkin furniture and Midnight Kitty Party Gold Meow Tickets. The special challenge mission list distinguishes the Pumpkin King badge from the title, so don’t assume the badge and title are claimed from the exact same single objective.
How to unlock the Prankster Pumpkin King badge
Current gameplay task lists show five special challenge objectives. Finish any three to claim the Prankster Pumpkin King badge. Each of the individual goals gives 200 Midnight Kitty Party Gold Meow Tickets. All are tied to the available Ice or Fire stages and are separate from their basic thirty-wave objectives.
| Special challenge | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Ice optional waves | Clear all 6 challenge waves in one Ice battle |
| Fire optional waves | Clear all 6 challenge waves in one Fire battle |
| Mint Candy challenge | Use Boyce’s Mint Candy and clear the first 30 normal waves |
| Small unit count | Clear the first 30 waves with no more than 7 Tuning Imagines on the field at once |
| Perfect defence | Clear the first 30 waves without a single enemy entering the Engram Line |
For the Star Resonance Nightveil Woods badge, you only need three of those five. A normal thirty-wave clear isn’t the same as finishing all six optional challenge waves, so look carefully at the mission wording before claiming a task is complete. The badge target is supported by current gameplay coverage; the official patch notes confirm the wider event rewards but don’t provide this detailed mission list.

What happens when Nightveil Woods Endless opens?
Endless begins on November 2. Facepunch says you receive Mystery Number Sticker Boxes according to the number of waves completed. Clearing at least 50 waves puts you on its leaderboard, but there are no ranking rewards. That makes survival progress worthwhile for stickers without turning leaderboard position into a separate prize track.
Light and Dark arrive on October 26. The developer has not given full enemy resistances or stage-specific unit recommendations in the announcement, so today’s Star Resonance Nightveil Woods strategy is limited to the two released stages. Use the event task descriptions after those new stages become playable.
Nightveil Woods rewards not counting?
Check whether the challenge requires the first thirty normal waves in a single battle. An optional wave may not count towards that number. For the enemy-limit goals, pay attention to how many monsters actually enter the Engram Line, not just how many you defeat. To count a media-collection objective, make sure you’ve collected the entire category within the stated battle.
If you’re trying to earn Halloween sticker boxes outside Star Resonance Nightveil Woods, the Pumpkin Encounter and number boards offer another route. Our Season 4, Oath Trials, Vow Altars, Stimen Vaults and codes guides cover the other parts of the game.
