Battlefield 6 DS-23 Pulse Rifle is a temporary Battle Pickup added for the Dead Space: Convergence event. You can use it in Marker Incursion, the crossover’s 16-player PvE mode, and EA also confirms it appears in Battle Royale and Rapid Royale during the event. You don’t buy the weapon from the Dead Space store bundles to take it into these matches.

The rifle has a high rate of fire and appears as temporary equipment during a match. Finding the actual Battle Pickup is the requirement; completing the cosmetic reward collection does not put it into your standard loadout.

How to get the Battlefield 6 DS-23 Pulse Rifle

To look for the Battlefield 6 DS-23 Pulse Rifle, enter Marker Incursion from the live event playlist. Follow the shared Area 51 objectives and check Battle Pickups as the group advances through defended sections. Its spawn is not a reward for destroying a set number of shrines, and EA does not specify a fixed pickup coordinate.

The Dead Space event overview explains the mission and its reward currency. There is currently no publisher-confirmed crate, room or spawn route for the DS-23. If the weapon does not appear at the first pickup you check, keep playing the event rather than treating a guessed map position as guaranteed.

Can you find the Pulse Rifle in Battle Royale or Rapid Royale?

Yes. EA’s October 20 event guide specifically states that the Battlefield 6 DS-23 Pulse Rifle can also be found in Battle Royale and Rapid Royale during Convergence. That means you aren’t required to play the 16-player PvE mode just to try the weapon. Keep an eye on Battle Pickups as you loot in REDSEC.

These are still match pickups, not a permanent unlock. Our Rapid Royale guide covers the faster battle royale format, while the Ranked Battle Royale guide covers a different set of REDSEC rules. The event announcement names Battle Royale and Rapid Royale as the crossover pickup modes, not every possible playlist.

How does the Battlefield 6 DS-23 Pulse Rifle work?

EA calls the DS-23 a Battle Pickup, meaning players encounter and use it during a live match rather than selecting it as one of their standard unlocked guns. The publisher highlights the weapon’s high rate of fire and its recognisable Dead Space appearance. It hasn’t released a confirmed damage table, reload figure or attachment list for the crossover version.

In Marker Incursion, the Battlefield 6 DS-23 Pulse Rifle is especially suited to clearing ordinary Marked Soldiers near the next objective. Keep its ammunition under control during the push and let teammates cover the objective while you clear attackers. EA has not provided a damage, reload or attachment specification for the Battlefield version.

Is the DS-23 Pulse Rifle a permanent loadout unlock?

EA calls the Battlefield 6 DS-23 Pulse Rifle a Battle Pickup for the limited-time crossover. It is not advertised as a permanent unlock in ordinary weapon progression. You can use it in supported matches without completing the reward collection or purchasing a Dead Space bundle.

If you’re mainly looking for something you can keep on your profile, the rewards collection contains cosmetics rather than an unlockable copy of the DS-23. One of those is RIG-Certified, a skin or weapon package for an SMG. It is not the Pulse Rifle and does not give your existing class guns the rifle’s special behaviour.

Do you need Semiconductors to get the Pulse Rifle?

No. Semiconductors are the Convergence event currency used to purchase Dead Space cosmetics. They can be earned from event challenges, eliminating Marked Soldiers and finding currency in Battle Royale or Rapid Royale. The Battlefield 6 DS-23 Pulse Rifle is a weapon pickup found during the action, not a cosmetic reward purchased with that currency.

Our Semiconductors guide covers the currency used for stickers, patches, boosters and the Aegis VII collection. These rewards do not unlock a permanent DS-23.

When will the Battlefield 6 DS-23 Pulse Rifle disappear?

EA’s Season 5 update lists Convergence as running from October 20 to November 10, 2026. The publisher hasn’t given a precise UK end hour for individual Battle Pickups, and hasn’t confirmed the DS-23 will continue appearing once the crossover finishes. Check the active event countdown if you’re planning a final session.

The Battlefield 6 DS-23 Pulse Rifle is limited to the event’s Battle Pickup system. For the Area 51 map and broader changes arriving alongside Convergence, see our Season 5 update guide. The two Dead Space-themed paid bundles contain cosmetics, not a required entry ticket for this pickup.
