Battlefield REDSEC Ranked Battle Royale officially starts with Season 5 on October 13, following earlier Battlefield Labs in Live testing. EA has announced redesigned rank badges, new seasonal rewards, updated matchmaking and changes to the class progression players use during Battle Royale.

Ranked is a competitive playlist rather than a quicker version of normal REDSEC. It offers a seasonal ladder to climb, while Rapid Royale is the separate 36-player mode built around fast matches and earned redeploys. Here is how to enter Ranked and what EA has confirmed about its rewards and scoring.

Battlefield REDSEC Ranked Battle Royale launch time

Update 2.1.1.0 starts downloading October 13 at 9 a.m. BST. The Season 5 modes, including Battlefield REDSEC Ranked Battle Royale, unlock at 1 p.m. BST. You’ll need the newest client before the official competitive playlist can appear.

The mode is part of the broader REDSEC offering. It is separate from the October 15–19 Battlefield 6 full-game free trial on Steam and PlayStation.

How to play Ranked Battle Royale

  1. Download and install Battlefield 6 Update 2.1.1.0.
  2. Open REDSEC after Season 5 starts at 1 p.m. BST.
  3. Select the Ranked Battle Royale playlist rather than Rapid Royale.
  4. Read the current Ranked Hub requirements for party eligibility, account access and any placements.
  5. Queue, play and check the post-match rank and score breakdown.

Battlefield REDSEC Ranked Battle Royale is the full launch of a mode previously tested in Labs in Live. EA hasn’t included a verified universal minimum player level or placement-match count in the overview checked here. Use the live Ranked Hub rather than a requirement copied from a test build.

What are the Battlefield REDSEC Ranked Battle Royale ranks?

EA confirms new-look rank badges and a seasonal competitive progression system, but the publicly available October 12 announcement does not give a complete list of current division names and numerical rank-point requirements. Those thresholds need confirmation from the launched Ranked interface.

If you’re working towards a particular badge, open the Ranked progression screen to inspect your current division and its promotion conditions. Battlefield REDSEC Ranked Battle Royale rank rules may differ from those shown during the earlier public test.

How does Ranked scoring work?

The seasonal announcement confirms revised matchmaking but not a full placement-versus-eliminations point breakdown. Exact figures for a first-place finish, assists, damage and survival should come from an official scoring screen rather than guesses from other battle royales.

Use the Battlefield REDSEC Ranked Battle Royale post-match screen to see what actually affected your result. A safe final circle can be valuable, but there is no verified reason to claim that a certain placement automatically yields a fixed number of points this season.

All confirmed Ranked rewards

Season 5 brings redesigned badges and new seasonal rewards. The names of every cosmetic and the required rank for each have not been comprehensively published in EA’s launch notes. Don’t treat an old testing reward, Battle Pass skin or free trial promotion as a confirmed Ranked-season prize.

For Battlefield REDSEC Ranked Battle Royale rewards, open the Ranked Hub reward preview when the mode is available. That is where the current season’s rank requirement and claim conditions should be displayed. New seasonal prizes don’t necessarily appear just for entering one match.

REDSEC class and armour changes

The new season removes Hazmat Breacher and Drone Operator Field Training paths, redistributes their benefits and adds the Handheld Jammer to Recon’s tools. Other classes receive changes to movement, healing and support abilities. Existing loadouts may need adjustment.

Armour plates now apply 20% faster in Battle Royale modes, with certain Engineer equipment providing more speed. Battlefield REDSEC Ranked Battle Royale players should check their defensive and redeploy setup before queuing because both can change how long a squad survives.

Ranked Battle Royale compared with Rapid Royale

Feature Ranked BR Rapid Royale
Main goal Seasonal competitive ranking Fast, regular Battle Royale matches
Known map and lobby details Check current Ranked playlist 36 players on Vegas Strip and Mirak Valley
Rewards Ranked badges and season prizes Standard playlist progress
Return mechanics Use current Ranked rules Redeploy Tokens from eliminations

Rapid Royale lasts around 10–13 minutes, has a faster Ring of Fire and shares squad Redeploy Tokens in Trios. Battlefield REDSEC Ranked Battle Royale is where you track competitive standings and season rewards, so choose the playlist that matches your actual goal.

Tips for the first Ranked matches

Make sure your squad understands the updated class tools before dropping. Share equipment, watch the circle, ping opponents and avoid turning every encounter into an unnecessary fight. Strong positioning and surviving to the late match are important even before the exact scoring incentives are clear.

After a few Battlefield REDSEC Ranked Battle Royale games, read your own score breakdown to understand how the live system values your results. That’s more useful than following a point chart created from the old test build.

Ranked not showing or failing to queue?

Check the 1 p.m. BST content activation and install any missing platform update. Restart the REDSEC client, select the Ranked playlist and inspect its eligibility notices. If the game reports an account or party restriction, follow that exact message rather than assuming the server has gone down.

Battlefield REDSEC Ranked Battle Royale rewards and scoring may be clarified further after the official launch. EA’s news and the in-game Ranked Hub should be used for confirmed details rather than speculative placement tables.
