Battlefield 6 Server Browser and Platoons are scheduled for December 8, 2026, in Season 5 Phase 3. EA is adding a way to pick persistent multiplayer servers and a new social system where groups of up to 100 members can build a shared identity.
The features serve different purposes. The Server Browser helps you find a match and stay with the same lobby between rounds. Platoons let friends and larger communities organise under one name, track combined stats and earn an XP bonus when playing together.
Battlefield 6 Server Browser and Platoons release date
EA’s October 21 roadmap update identifies December 8 for Season 5 Phase 3. The same date brings updated versions of Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City, with changes to routes and objective approaches.
The December 8 date is EA’s current launch plan, with the final UK availability shown when the update goes live. The company has already explained the browser’s role alongside matchmaking and how Platoons will appear in the main menu.
How will the Battlefield 6 Server Browser work?
EA plans to run the Server Browser alongside the existing matchmaking system. When you select a server directly, your chosen lobby can stay together between rounds. That’s the practical difference for players who want to remain with the same teammates or return to a preferred server.

Quickplay and Custom Search will remain available. Those matchmakers can place you on official servers listed in the browser, but may move you between rounds to match your chosen modes or maps. Choosing a server yourself is how EA intends players to enter a persistent lobby.
Where to find Battlefield 6 Server Browser and Platoons
EA plans to put Server Browser as the first Quickplay tile for Battlefield 6 owners. In Portal, players will also be able to browse Verified Experiences and Custom Experiences through separate entries.
For Battlefield 6 Server Browser and Platoons, the menus are different: the browser is planned as Quickplay’s first tile, with Verified and Custom Experiences in Portal, while Platoons gets a separate main-menu tab. EA has described those entry points, not a complete catalogue of live server filters.
How do Platoons work in Battlefield 6?
EA’s first version of Platoons supports up to 100 members. You’ll be able to create or join a group, name it, add a squad tag and view its combined gameplay statistics. The aim is to keep a community together beyond the duration of one match.
Platoon members who play in the same squad will receive an XP bonus. EA says EA Connect will be used for group management and hierarchy. It has not announced a numerical bonus or a full list of leadership permissions in the October update.

Battlefield 6 Server Browser and Platoons: the 100-member limit
No. The 100-member figure is a Platoon membership limit, not a 100-player squad or guaranteed match size. You’ll still join the battlefield as part of an ordinary multiplayer team or squad. Joining a large Platoon doesn’t put every member into the same game automatically.
This is where the Battlefield 6 Server Browser and Platoons plans fit together. A Platoon gives your regular group a name and shared stats; the browser provides another way to find multiplayer sessions, including lobbies where the same players stay together between rounds.
December maps and the remaining Season 5 schedule
Phase 3 also updates Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City, improving movement around the maps’ edges, flanking opportunities, terrain breaks and approaches to rooftops and objectives. These are revisions of existing maps rather than two new locations.
Before December 8, Season 5 Phase 2 arrives on November 10 with the European Casino map, Multiplayer Leaderboards and balancing. The Battlefield 6 Server Browser and Platoons update follows in December, giving players more choice in both matchmaking and community organisation.
