Avatar Legends Patch 4 released on October 28, 2026, with the biggest update yet for Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game. Called the Avatar State Patch, it reworks Avatar State Aang and Nightmare Korra, changes Ranked sets, adds stages and rebalances the entire fighter roster.
Avatar Legends Patch 4 changes much more than character damage. Ranked sets now have new rules, Training Mode gains better blocking and playback options, and Story and Arcade provide clearer progression. Two stages also become available outside Story Mode.
Ranked Mode Changes in Avatar Legends Patch 4

Ranked now uses first-to-three sets. Players must win three games to take the set, and points are awarded only after the entire set finishes. Winning the set cannot make the victor lose points, while leaving a set before completion results in a penalty.
Under Avatar Legends Patch 4, winning one game does not end a Ranked set. Players continue until somebody records three wins, then points are awarded for the completed set. Leaving before the full result carries a penalty.
Avatar State Aang and Nightmare Korra reworks
Nightmare Korra can now Flow Cancel every waterbending move when using Vaatu Support. Dark Spirit changes her movement, her dashes recover three frames sooner and she gains a 6C command normal, new EX techniques, different throws, a new Final Technique and Critical Hit options.
Avatar State Aang is another centrepiece of Avatar Legends Patch 4. His Unbound mechanic is gone, several follow-ups can now Flow Cancel on contact, and projectiles have new Flow costs. The enhanced 236EX also consumes two Energy Points, changing how players budget stronger attacks.
Balance changes across the roster
Ordinary Korra loses some close-range pressure: her Avatar State Super falls from 200 damage to 150 and its duration drops from twenty seconds to fifteen. Katara loses fifty health and receives slower or more punishable attacks. Sokka’s Piandao support and boomerang cancel options have been reworked.
Toph’s High Ground fastfall now uses 50 percent Flow instead of 33 percent. Zuko’s Ran and Shaw support gains more ways to build Redemption, regular Aang can cancel dashes into Flow Techniques earlier, and Zaheer’s Red Lotus cooldown increases after an opponent hits the assist. The changes give each fighter a different adjustment to learn.
New stages and refreshed presentation

Avatar Road and Air Temple Island can now be used outside Story Mode. Spirit Wilds receives updated visuals, and players can select music from Stage Select. Air Temple Island gains new music, while the main menu rotates between different times of day.
The visual overhaul in Avatar Legends Patch 4 includes Gold HUD access for preorder owners and Platinum and Onyx options for Deluxe owners. Character select, stage select, Versus, Arcade progression and rematch screens have updated art and navigation, with more dialogue and quick-chat options.
Avatar Legends Patch 4: Training and Story Changes
Training Mode now anchors frame advantage information to the HUD, introduces random recording playback and new blocking options, improves resets and fixes dummy behaviour. Additional Combo Trials arrive, together with fixes. Some Ozai trials still have tracking issues, but their demonstration combos provide a supported route through affected challenges.
Most Story Mode fights now use first-to-two rules, with improved teaching prompts and more coins awarded after fights. Arcade gains Novice, Intermediate and Expert CPU difficulties, a new progression screen and saved high scores. Together these changes make solo play and practice easier to navigate.
Voting, lobbies and other features
Year One Character Pass voting now gives one pass for preordering, one for buying or upgrading to Deluxe, and two for a Deluxe preorder. Players order the characters they want rather than choosing a single winner. The patch also adds sound effects, rematch voice lines and extra music.
Avatar Legends Patch 4 also improves the online presentation with clearer room labels and rematch messages. Invite codes, public and private rooms, spectator playback and host moderation arrived earlier in Patch 3. Paramount’s full notes detail the individual fighter fixes and support adjustments alongside these changes.
